Joanne Brockway
Waking up one morning and hearing, “Let’s Move South,” was a shock for a couple of Northerners, until my husband David and I got here. We have truly embraced our adventure south. Today, we love our Southern Home, and our Southern Family. I have to admit, it took us a while to learn to live on “Charleston Time,” and slow ourselves down. Now, we are raising our two teenage sons, our golden retriever (who seems to be raising us), and enjoying weekends of beaching and boating, and looking forward to the different events around town – our favorites are Southeastern Wildlife Expo and can’t miss at least one of the great programs at Spoleto Festival. Nearly 20 years later we never looked back, and call this area our home.
Our island real estate team has really become another part of my close-knit Charleston Family. We enjoy working together and pitching in for each other whenever it’s needed. We enjoy getting together with our vacation planning and long-term rental team after hours, and celebrating our life changes together. Being a realtor on the islands is a perfect fit for me, and taking a walk on the beach for a lunch break aint bad eitherJ
I have been a licensed realtor since 1992, and have practiced in South Carolina since 2005. I am a past member of the Keller Williams Agent Leadership Council, and have been a member of East Cooper Top Producers for the past 3 years. I would be honored to talk with you about what brings you to this area, and to help you find your piece of the Southern Dream. You are welcome to call me at (843) 425-8273, or by email: jbrockway@kwchs.com

Raised in Miami, a last minute decision to attend the College of Charleston brought me here over 30 years ago and I have never looked back. I married my college sweetheart, a true “Charleston Boy”, settled in Mt. Pleasant and raised our daughter on the banks of Molasses Creek. I used to chase tennis balls all over the court, but I have embraced the relaxed pace of the lowcountry and spend many evenings sitting on our deck enjoying a glass of wine watching the wildlife in the creek, or heading up the coast to McClellanville to do a little fishing in the creeks or along the beach. Growing up in South Florida was a lot of fun, but living in Charleston is tough to beat.
I love looking at real estate and have worked as a real estate professional since 1992, first as an appraiser and now in the sales arena. I have covered a lot of neighborhoods over the years and I’m glad to share my experience and knowledge with my clients.
Selling real estate is my passion and having an office at the beach is a really nice bonus. Working with the crew at Island Realty is great, everyone is busy but we all help pitch in and help each other whenever needed and we never miss an opportunity to nibble on some goody someone has made or dropped off! I can usually be found upstairs in the Sales Office, so stop by and say hello, I look forward to meeting you.

Having grown up in New Jersey I was accustomed to being able to get to the beach (or as we say it "the shore) easily and often, but I moved south after college for warmer year 'round weather. After 17 great years in Atlanta my husband and I decided we wanted our daughters to grow up near the ocean when I casually said to a friend “Oh, I want to live at the beach”, to which he replied “then move to the beach”. That little seed was the beginning of our beach adventure. We embarked on the search for the perfect beach town. It took a year to visit every coastal town from Fernandina to Wilmington. Shortly into the search we took a trip to Sea World where Shamu was dancing in the water to Little River Band’s “Cool Change”. It was an epiphany, a defining moment we’ll never forget. That beautiful ballad became our theme song and we have since embraced all of our “Cool Changes”, for which we are so very grateful!
We loved living on Isle of Palms for two memorable years when the corporate world took us away. It was an excellent adventure living in six states in twelve years and even though we made some great friends and live in a couple of other AMAZING coastal town (San Diego and Naples, FL) and on a lake in Ohio, we longed to get back to Charleston the entire time. As luck would have it, we were able to do just that a couple of years ago.
My MBA in finance and mortgage banking career in Atlanta, combined with all of our moves, qualified me as a "relocation expert" even before I decided to get my real estate license. I am all about embracing the change that real estate transactions entail and I throughly enjoy helping folks do the same. It will be my pleasure to help you find your next "Cool Change"!

I was born and raised in Winthrop, Massachusetts just north of Boston. After graduating from Lowell Technological Institute with a BS degree in Industrial Management, I joined IGS Store Fixtures, a family owned business, serving as a Sales Manager and eventually President.
I entered real estate sales after my wife Rita and I moved to Mount Pleasant, SC. My extensive background in Sales and Customer Service makes me aware how important it is that each and every client receive the service they deserve. I listen to my clients so that I can thoroughly understand their needs, because only then can I work diligently to meet their needs.
Although I am familiar with and service all areas of Greater Charleston, I specialize in Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island.
When I’m not busy selling real estate, I find myself busy enjoying many of the things the Charleston area has to offer. My interests vary from a day at the beach to smoking a pork shoulder in my back yard (which recently earned me third place in a neighborhood BBQ throwdown). Having wine as a hobby has led me to volunteer with the Charleston Wine and Food Festival, the mission of which is to enhance Charleston’s culinary reputation and support important charitable endeavors. To help support Charleston’s rich maritime heritage I also volunteer at the Charleston Harbor Fest.

I’m an island guy. My wife, two young daughters and I live on Sullivan’s Island and we enjoy every aspect of what the barrier islands and Charleston have to offer. If I’m not working and we’re not carpooling to one activity or another, we’re normally at the beach, the pool, fishing, or cruising on the bikes or golf cart. If there is time, I’ll try to squeeze in 18 holes. I am an active member of the Sullivan’s Island Elementary PTA, as well as Stella Maris Church (where I also play church-league softball).
Living on the islands, I stay on top of the real estate market here and pay extra attention to the events and factors that affect us. As an island property owner, I am also adept at answering questions pertaining to owning coastal property - my clients receive first-hand knowledge. I specialize in Isle of Palms, Wild Dunes, and Sullivan’s Island real estate.
Professionally, I am a member of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors®, an Accredited Buyer’s Representative®, and a member of the East Cooper Top Producers Club. I have represented the Charleston real estate community as its featured agent on two HGTV® shows, “My House is Worth What?” and “National Open House.” Also, buyers working with me have the opportunity to appear on the network’s #1 rated show, “House Hunters.”
This is just a brief introduction, so please feel free to contact me or visit www.CharleyHamrick.com. I am always happy to answer any questions about owning coastal property. I try to make real estate fun and informative for my clients. I’m always up for a tour of the area. Hey, if you’re on Sullivan’s, let’s take the golf cart!

I am a native of the Palmetto State. While growing up in Greenville, I started visiting Charleston as a child and always dreamed of living in the Lowcountry. After playing college basketball at Winthrop College, I married and moved to California. Returning to the Palmetto State with a move to Greenwood, SC, where I taught school and later sold Real Estate. My career in Medical Software took my daughter and me first to Atlanta, then to Birmingham, Alabama and later to San Diego, California.
I moved back South to Atlanta in 1995. After seven years in Atlanta, I decided I wanted to make my dream of living in Charleston come true. So in 2002, I made the best move of my entire career when I relocated to Mt. Pleasant, then later to the Island in Wild Dunes.
Ever since I have been living my dream…walking the East Island Beaches with my Polish Lowland Sheepdog named Sullivan, cruising the Charleston waterways on my boat named “BABs”, dining on Shem Creek, making memories with my Grandson Jack and Granddaughter Ella here on the beaches in Wild Dunes, meandering along the cobble stone streets of Historic Charleston. I keep asking myself is this a dream and the answer is YES!
And yes, I have the best job in the World, Selling Charleston and the East Islands. When you are ready to follow your Dream, and need a Dream Weaver, I am ready to help.

I was born and raised in our Nation’s Capital, spent four amazing years in New Orleans; where I received my BA in Psychology from Tulane University and went on to begin my life outside of education in New York City after graduation. After two years in NYC, I decided to move west, to Santa Monica, CA and ultimately on to Bozeman, MT. My career in real estate began in 2004, shortly after moving to The Big Sky Country. I worked with The Collection Sotheby’s International Realty not only as a Sales Associate, but also as the Marketing Coordinator and Office Manager. I have always worn many hats. Though the Rocky Mountains are truly special, I was ready for a change, and to get out of the long winters. For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the Charleston area, so it was an easy decision. I relocated in April of 2010, and in June joined the team at Keller Williams Realty. I currently work with Lori Claussen who has helped me find a niche in listing and selling Bank Owned properties. I am very fortunate to be where I am and hope you love the area as much as I do!

Born and raised a Charleston girl, I grew up in the city and spent my summers on Sullivans Island. I graduated from the College of Charleston in 1985 and have been in real estate since 2005. I currently live in Mt. Pleasant with my husband, Sean, son, Kyle and daughter, Madeleine. Spending quality time with my family and friends is very important to me. Being on the beach or in the boat is an ideal day for me! Health and wellness are extremely important to me and exercise is a big part of my well being. Shopping and dining are some of my favorite things to do too! I would love to show you the town that I have grown to love and hope to never leave. Let my attention to detail bring you peace of mind.

North meets South. I grew up in Cape May NJ for 22 years of my life and now have spent 22 years in Charleston SC. It was an easy transition moving from one historical beach resort to another. I have completely immersed myself in the southern way however, I can’t seem to lose some of that northern accent. Selling real estate now for 20 years, I would consider myself a seasoned agent selling hundreds of homes in just about every jurisdiction in our Tri-County. Recently I had the opportunity to leave North America and visit South Africa. The picture you see is me visiting a local school near Thabazimbi, South Africa donating clothes, school supplies and money. As beautiful and magnificent I found South Africa to be I still believe nothing beats Charleston!

The Charleston Coast has been my home since I was a young girl, with my family being transplanted here via the Air Force from Bucks County, PA in 1969. I love my Charleston town and I am so grateful everyday we were lucky enough to transplant here! Everything and anything water - you'll find me there. Whether it's on my boat, the beach, fishing, kayaking, or even the pool there is always fun to be had with family and friends.
I was previously married to a local anchor man in the 80's which sadly moved us to Florida and Ohio for about six years. I cried the entire six hour ride to Florida as I watched my angelic town fade away in the rear window. But a chance phone call asking my husband to come back here brought me back to my roots. That call came in October, our move was eight months off, the longest 8 months of my life. As we weathered lake effect snows during spring in the land of the Cleveland Indians, I would dream of Charleston's beautiful flowers and sweet aroma that waft through the air with just the right mixer of pluff mud to throw off the nose of the new comer.
That was 21 years ago and I cherish every day here. There are very places on the planet that allow you 'to park across the street from the beach, enjoy the day, go home, change into your black dress or finest suit (or seersucker), enjoy four star dining, the ballet, symphony, art walks, AND do it all within a twenty minute ride from most anywhere in the Charleston area.' There is a saying here - "Charleston gets in your blood".
I've been a successful Realtor since 1992 with a vast knowledge of all areas in the tri-county area, so whether looking for a 2nd home or to transfer - we can help. The team at Island Realty and I can help you in every aspect. I look forward to meeting you! -Brigitte

Originally from Chicago, Illinois and thru Indianapolis, Indiana I've spent a good portion of my adult life in the Midwest. Twenty five of those years spread between Sales Management and Ownership in the Presentation Products Industry. Then by accident Charleston presented itself...
In 1992 my family and I visited Charleston for the first time; as one of our daughters was interested in attending the College of Charleston. We of course all fell in love with the area and the school; along with all "big city" amenities it has to offer, but in a much smaller package. The Great Climate, Water, Arts, History, Restaurants, and Friendly People, but No Snow!! Since we are avid sailors we knew this was the place for us, and in 1995 relocated to the area.
As a Second Generation Realtor and Property Investor I have seen the area thrive and grow...and as it has grown thanks to great City Planning, the area has been able to maintain the character and charm that originally drew all of us to it.
If Charleston, South Carolina is in your future I would be privileged to help you find your piece of paradise.

I am originally from Oklahoma and grew up in Dallas, TX. After attending Oklahoma State University I relocated to St. Augustine Florida and began my career in the coastal real estate market. In the mid nineties I had my first opportunity to visit Charleston. I instantly fell in love the history, charm, cuisine and easy pace of life that Charleston offers. Upon a subsequent visit I met and fell in love with my wife Lauren. I relocated to Charleston in 1997, married Lauren and continued my real estate career with Island Realty where I have hung my hat ever since, specializing in the sale of homes and condos in the East Cooper communities of Isle of Palms, Mt. Pleasant and Daniel Island.
Lauren and I live on Daniel Island with our two beautiful daughters, Lexi and Tory. Lexi graduated from Bishop England High school and is soon to begin her senior year at the University of South Carolina. Tory will begin the fourth grade soon at the beautiful Daniel Island School and spends her free time honing her equestrian skills. We feel so fortunate to live in a community where our girls could walk safely to school and live the island lifestyle. Lauren is a former Marine and works at SpaWar as a financial analyst. When I am not helping my clients with their real estate needs, you can usually find me on one of the many world class tennis facilities around the Charleston area, competing in local leagues or socializing with my fellow enthusiasts. Although I don’t get to do it as often as I would like, I also enjoy taking advantage of the amazing fishing opportunities that are found in the low country.
I truly feel blessed to have landed in Charleston and I find great joy in showing new residents the area and exposing them to all the great things we have to offer!

I am so fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful cities on the east coast and call Charleston my home. I moved here almost 10 years ago after graduating with a marketing degree from Francis Marion University. I am originally from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where my parents and sister still reside.
My passions are my family, church, and tennis. I have been married to my husband, Cal for 6 years and after losing twin boys 4 years ago we are blessed with our 2 year old daughter Kailyn. She brings so much joy to our lives. Cal owns a restaurant in the Mt. Pleasant Towne Center called Hatchell’s and has been involved in the restaurant business here in Charleston for 20 years. We actually met at his restaurant 9 years ago and the rest is history!
We are very active in our church, where Cal is a Deacon and serves as a manager of the church café and I serve on the worship team and sing several Sundays a month.
I am also an avid tennis player. I grew up playing and received a 4 year scholarship to FMU, a Division II school in Florence, South Carolina. I still play weekly and am a part of several leagues. Did you know Charleston was named Best Tennis Town in America in 2010?
Working at Keller Williams for the past 5 years as a realtor has balanced my life perfectly. Working with clients and making things happen are what I enjoy doing. I hope to work with you to buy or sell your dream home!
