Long Term Rentals- Our Team
My name is Ashley Bostic and I grew up vacationing in Wild Dunes with my family and have always wanted to call the island my home. After graduating from ClemsonUniversity, I moved to the Charleston area and have been in love ever since. I enjoy the many luxuries that beach life has to offer and take full advantage of walks on the beach, visiting the local farmers markets, attending events such as Charleston Fashion Week and SEWE and getting to enjoy the low country with family and friends. I love living in a city that offers so much history, unique dining and diverse activities. I would say I’m a tourist in my own town! I love Island Realty because of the relationships I’ve made within our company as well as with my owners and tenants.
I call myself a Charlestonian, but in truth, my family moved from Camden South Carolina to Charleston when I was in the 1st grade. Since that day, my life has been fully emerged in Lowcountry living. My mother had been a Realtor as long as I can remember, so when I graduated high school, I decided to pursue the opposite career – I wanted to be a Chef. After graduating with a culinary degree and a few more years in the Food and Beverage Industry, I decided to go into the family business. Culinary school wasn’t a total loss, I met my husband (who is a Chef) while in school and it never hurts to know how to cook! In 2002, I joined Exit Realty on Sullivan’s Island and worked as a residential sales agent as well as a rental agent. Always knowing there is much to learn in this business, I pursued several professional designations to expand my understanding of the industry. I am most proud of accomplishing the designation of Certified Residential Specialist, which was earned by number of closed transactions paired with 12 months of attending over 100 hours of specific training. In 2007, the real estate bubble burst and I once again began split time with residential sales and property management. In 2009, I was given half-ownership to Exit Realty Rentals, which was comprised of over 80 long term rentals, 25 vacation rentals and 2 condo regimes (consisting of 180 homeowners). After juggling these services for 3 years, we decided to merge our company’s rentals with a local company that had the experience and reputation to best serve our vacation rentals, while allowing me to focus on long term rental properties and regime management. After much research, we felt that Island Realty was best fit for all. The transition was very smooth, and I have finally obtained the balance I knew existed! I’m a happy girl!
I have lived in Coastal South Carolina since I was a little girl and have enjoyed growing up and exploring the Coast with my mid-west parents. I also attended the College of Charleston in our beautiful historic district. Now that I have a family of my own, we enjoy boating and beaching as well as staying active at Blessed Sacrament School and Church. My daughter is a budding soccer star so you will often find us at the fields on Saturday mornings for her games or practice. I thoroughly believe that Charleston is a superb place to go to college and raise a family as well as retire! Now that we have a huge amount of new industry moving into our area with Boeing, Clemson’s Drivetrain Facility for wind turbine testing, Google, etc, we have the perfect environment for a strong rental market. I can assist owners in renting and managing their property if they are living in the local area or out of the country!
I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I moved to Charleston 3 years ago to fulfill my dream of living by the beach. I have been working in Property Management since 2002, and I have been with Island Realty for almost 3 years managing Long Term Rental Properties. I look forward to extending my experience with Island Realty and working with you in the future.
Although, I was not born in Charleston, I was lucky enough to plant my roots in South Carolina June of 2009. After graduating from Bishop England High School, I continued my education at the University of South Carolina; where I received a Bachelors Degree in Pulic Relations. After graduation, Estates, Inc. hired me as their Business Manager for 42 Magnolia Apartments in Columbia, SC. I was then transferred to Charleston to work with their Regime Department, managing Thirty-Three Calhoun HOA, George & Society HPR and Pier View HPR. After my experience and the valuable knowledge I acquired managing regimes, I decided to accept a position from Island Realty in their Long Term Department, where I can say I live and work in paradise! Outside of work I enjoy hunting in the great outdoors, fishing on the open waters and savoring all the wonderful flavors Charleston has to offer!
