5 reasons why you should visit the Lowcountry this upcoming season

Happy fall, y'all! Nothing can put you in a better mood than October in the Lowcountry! Whether you are visiting Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island for the weekend or for much longer, there are many things going on in the area this season that we don't want you to miss!

Explore both Downtown Charleston's Farmers Market and the Isle of Palms Farmers Market during your next visit! With a variety of local produce, plants, herbs and cut flowers as well as breakfast and lunch vendors, live entertainment and local arts and crafts, you are bound to have a wonderful experience and will leave with some awesome goodies!

Every Saturday morning at Marion Square in downtown Charleston, shop locally at the Charleston's Farmers Market! From 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. you can have the opportunity to explore and shop locally grown produce, crafts, plants, herbs, cut flowers and much more! The Charleston Farmers Market is a community connection and is such a fun place to be.

If you enjoy exploring different farmers markets, then stop by the Isle of Palms Farmers Market - it's fantastic!  The market made its debut in late August and will be open every Thursday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. through October 26, 2017!

You can't visit Charleston without adventuring out to find some ghosts! Our friends at Sandlapper Water Tours have ghost tours available throughout the fall and winter season. Enjoy cruising on the Charleston harbor and just maybe you will encounter a ghost on the tour! If you do not encounter a ghost, you will have a lot of fun learning about Charleston's history and seeing some incredible sights on the water.

Enjoy a Halloween experience you don't want to miss at Boone Hall Fright Nights in Mount Pleasant! Everything from a haunted hayride to a dark walk through scary corridors, this is a fun experience for you and the whole crew!

On October 7, get ready to enjoy a race with a view! As an active sponsor, we are proud to promote the Isle of Palms Connector Run & Walk race! Whether you enjoy competing in challenging races or you are looking for a fun activity to get the entire family involved, the IOP Connector 5k and 10k races are the perfect weekend activity. The proceeds go to the non-profit cause for the healing and prevention of child abuse in Charleston. Registration is super easy and if you register online before October 7, you can save $5!

End the month of October and celebrate Halloween on Isle of Palms at the Halloween Carnival on Tuesday, October 31! From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. kids of all ages can enjoy various seasonal games, jump castles, face painting, Halloween goodies and much more!
