NOW is the time to get a long-term manager!

Last week on the blog, we told you why you should use a property management company for your long-term rental property.

We're not ones to tell you to hurry. But we want you to know that now is the time to do it. Now is the time to get your long-term rental property on a management company's program.

Let us tell you why: people are moving.

We don't just mean that people are continuing to move to the Lowcountry—they are, and they're showing no signs of stopping—we mean that today, people are moving.

Did you know that summer is the prime time for moving? Why do people insist on moving in summer, you might ask. We know—it's Charleston and it's hot and lifting heavy boxes sounds less than ideal. Consider these reasons, though:

1.Vacation's over. People just came to visit the Charleston area for their summer vacation and (surprise, surprise) we totally charmed them. They were wooed by our Southern hospitality, beaches, and probably food, and now they want to make it their permanent home. Enter: the out-of-town renter looking for his or her first Charleston place.

2.School's (almost) back in session. Parents don't want to move their kids during the middle of the year. Even if it's just a move down the street, a move is far easier to handle before school and after-school activities ramp up. Plus, this takes away the possibility of a school district change mid-semester.

3.Empty nesting has set in. Kids off at college? Time to downsize or move to your dream location. When their kid goes to college, parents will often sell the family home and search for a more suitably-sized rental property to live in.

4.Wedding bells were ringing. You know what summer also is? Wedding season. Newlyweds don't always fit in a now-husband's old bachelor pad and search for a place to call home together at the end of the season.

Get your property in front of these newly-realized Charleston lovers, these empty nesters, these happy parents, these newlyweds now while they're looking.

Our annual rentals department will work quickly, but thoroughly, with you to optimize your listings and get your property the attention it needs today!
