Where to Wednesday: Glamping

Like the idea of getting somewhere remote and disconnecting for a few days, but don't love the thought of actually camping? We feel you.

Have you heard of glamping? Okay, so it usually involves a really glamorous tent-like structure erected somewhere around a pre-made campfire, sure. But hey, why couldn't glamping take place at a beautiful three-bedroom beach home, too? We say it can. Especially if that home is on the boat-access-only Goat Island. You'll be surrounded by nature, kicking it in the glamorous beach-house-meets-cabin of your dreams at 3825 Goat Island

With its wooden interiors, you can convince yourself you're in a cabin on some far-away mountaintop. But when you walk outside to the stunning water views and the so-relaxing-you-won't-get-up dock, you'll be reminded that your 'camping trip' is actually taking place in one of the sunniest, most lovely places in the world.

Full of character and charm, this Goat Island home is perfectly unique in its placement on the Intracoastal Waterway, surrounded by marshland. To rent the home, you must either bring your own boat to access the property or rent a boat through the IOP Marina (don't worry, we have special rates available for you!)

The property has three bedrooms: two with king beds and one with a full-size bed. There are also two lofts: one with a queen bed and one with a twin bed. There are three bathrooms, two with jacuzzi tubs and separate showers. The fully equipped kitchen can be used to make gourmet meals, or to put an indoor spin on an outdoor camping favorite like s'mores.

Next time someone suggests you go camping, we recommend showing them this gorgeous, secluded (but totally updated and modern) option instead. You won't be sorry!
