## Reviews
### A Fall Getaway (1/5 stars)
This was the second time staying at 35th Ave. #3. Stayed back in the Spring of this year. Was not impressed, but decided to give it another try. It is definitely overpriced for the outdated cottage, lack of upkeep, yard full of ants, no back door but an outdoor shower for after the beach, TV...internet only worked part of the time. Because this cottage is only a 1/2 block from the beach is why it is rented. That is the only plus. Would not recommend to anyone and will not stay here again. When checking out...just for curiosity I asked what the owner was charging for next year...Spring of 2027. I was shocked to hear more than fee this year. It is a disappointment. Owner truly needs to invest some of his return in this rental if he wants repeat guests.

### Great location but expensive for a dated house (4/5 stars)
The house was fine. Dated but great location. For a “pet friendly” cottage, you can’t access the fenced backyard without going outside and around the side of the house. No backdoor is odd. It made it difficult to enjoy that feature. Also, the “outdoor shower” is in the middle of the overgrown and dirty sandy backyard with no walkway to stay clean back into the house. The full-sized (or very small queen”) bed was uncomfortable and loud. We tossed and turned all night and kept everyone awake with the loud bed. The young kids said the futon was “fine,” so at least that was a plus.

From the start till the last hour there Brittany was fabulous with all our questions and needs. This kind of customer service is why we year after year keep coming there! Thanks again

### R Stay @ IoP (5/5 stars)
Exactly what we want with our labs. Close to beach so they can enjoy running in early morning and later afternoon.

### A home away from home (5/5 stars)
The house was great! Just needed 2 bathrooms. The backyard was good for the dog. We were very comfortable. Hope to come back soon.

### Review 35th Ave 3 (4/5 stars)
Location was fantastic! The kitchen appliances could use upgrading, the website said the kitchen had been updated so that was slightly misleading. The silverware and plates in the cabinets were are not all clean. The utensil drawers were not clean, pieces of food and dog har inside. The front glass door was broken upon arrival, it was unable to latch closed. Completely understand that pet friendly rentals may be a little different, this was just not the quality we were used to using island reality. With that being said, we would rent the property again! We just wanted to be transparent with our experience. Thank you!

### Best pet friendly place (5/5 stars)
Very, very clean no bugs in the house. The house did not smell like dogs The sheets and towels were very clean the place was very clean. The only thing I wished was that the yard was not filled with ants when he stepped outside couldn’t sit outside because of the ants. and I love that it was very close to the beach did not have to walk far.

### July 2025 (4/5 stars)
We had a great visit to Isle of Palm. Our place was small but convenient. It was a last minute decision to go so properties were limited.

### Christmas with Family (5/5 stars)
Spent time with children & grandchildren who live in Mt Pleasant. The only problem was at check in. I was never sent the lock box number so I was calling with no result. My son finally went to the office and found a different phone number that was able to help us.

### Recent visit (4/5 stars)
Have stayed here before. Husband was in school with Paul Pritchard in Ware Shoals, SC. Nostalgia with this 4 week stay (except was delayed 5 days by hurricane Debby). Yard could use some work, but good to have fence in back yard for dog walking. Lots of small ants in front yard. Thanks for this time on IOP.

### Excellent Location (5/5 stars)
My husband and I were looking for an affordable place to crash at the beach. This was perfect for our needs. It is at most a 5 minute walk to the beach, close to the connector road, Harris Teeter, and restaurants. It was clean and the bed in the master bedroom was clean.Loved the convenience of having the kitchen, washer & dryer.

### As advertised-- in a good way (5/5 stars)
Good location- clean home. Perfect for a weekend trip. Easy check in.

### A couple of suggested improvements but overall great for us... (5/5 stars)
If only there were easier access to the backyard and some updated landscaping (mostly lawn improvement and maintenance) this would be 5 stars all around for the small family.

### April getaway (5/5 stars)
Perfect location, quiet neighborhood, the house had everything we needed, with an incredible beach a block away!
- Kate K Posted on 5/1/2024

### Dog Friendly (3/5 stars)
We found popcorn on couches and crumbs on top of refrigerator upon arrival. Back yard was great for dogs but would recommend better access instead of walking on roots, good ankle breaker. Possibly make new access through grill area. Walk to beach was great with two easy accesses. Cost was high for what actual accommodations, needs some slight improvements.

### Pet odor and ‘kind of blah’ (3/5 stars)
A strong pet odor hits you when you enter the house. There is not a back door so you have to exit a side door to get to the back yard. (That would be a nice disclosure for potential renters) The interior was very dated and gives the impression that the owners do the bare minimum with any fresh updates. The linens were fresh and clean- the house was tidy. We did not experience any issues with the utilities. The WiFi worked well. The convenient access to the beach is its best feature.

### Coastal Cottage (5/5 stars)
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely beach weekend. The house was the perfect getaway spot.

### Great Little House (5/5 stars)
This house is so perfect for a small family or 4 adults. 10 out of 10!

### cozy cottage (4/5 stars)
I had a great experience. cozy and comfortable. and the a/c was able to keep up with my ice cold standards of 67-69. Location awesome. only one house away from the regular beach parking.Just have a few points of improvement to suggest but was very happy for the price. 1-Ants and mosquitos were overly zealous at this hose particular. May need pest control. sidewalks were constantly covered with ants that would climb your legs given .5 seconds of a chance. The mosquitos were very specific to this property. taking our dog for walks the mosquitos would not bother you until you walked back on this property. so Im assuming the other properties had spraying done which we witnessed on a few house while there.2- Wife had to deep clean a pot that had burnt on food on the bottom. the large boiler pot had significant burnt areas that took some time to remove. 3- drainage/water runoff by side door sunroom was directed along the back door almost overflowing into the house. may need some drainage adjustment on that area.4- there is a rinse shower in the backyard, great asset, however you have to access it from the side yard from the side of the driveway and walk across the dirt. so once you rinse off you have to walk back across the dirt to the concrete to get into the house with no hose connection to rinse feet or sandals off again. suggest running the piping down to the little storage fence area behind the picnic area and putting shower in there for easier cleanup and rinsing. Not a deal breaker but a way to make the experience a level better.

### Yearly trip (5/5 stars)
Enjoyed our stay. We come to IOP every year and wanted to get a house instead of a condo. Everyone was nice and it is located right by Public beach entrance. Will use them again

### Clean cottage but yard needs work (4/5 stars)
This house was extremely clean. The kitchen, bedrooms and living room were perfect. The bathroom is very small with no counter space at all. Nor is there a mirror (except a tiny one inside the medicine cabinet). The fenced in yard is the main reason we chose this place. However, it was very inconvenient as there is no easy access. You have to walk around the house to get to it. The outdoor shower is kind of pointless as you walk through dirt and sand to get to it. The ants are like nothing I've ever seen. I have lived and stayed in the south all of my 52 yrs of life and could not believe how bad they were. There was no spending any time outside. They even were biting our dog. We had to leave the property and just take him on walks around the neighborhood to get away from them. Thankfully none made it inside. The A/C unit made a horrible noise. The only time it stopped was when it wasn't running (which was hardly at all). It made it hard to hear the tv at times. Even though it still cooled, after a while, the noise was really grating on our nerves. Overall, the place was perfect for our needs. Just my husband and I and our dog for a few days. Don't know that I would want to stay there for a long period of time. I really don't like leaving any negative comments at all because it is a cute cottage and very clean. However, it just needs a few updates and some maintenance.

### Clean and very close to the beach (5/5 stars)
My sister rented this home and we found that the house is way nicer in person. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet surroundings and very close to beach and easily accessible. Looking forward to renting this home again.

### 5 Stars (5/5 stars)
This property was perfect for our family and our budget. Hard to find something this close to the beach for this price. Place looked nicer in person and was very clean.

### Weekend get away cottage (5/5 stars)
This property was almost exactly as described. The only surprise was that there is no access to the back yard from the house. You have to walk around the side of the house to get access. It had rained prior to our arrival so the paths to the yard was kinda muddy. It's a cute cottage with all maintained furnishings. It is only 1 block walk to the public beach access path. The street is quiet & not busy so no trouble getting into or out of driveway. There is a Harris Teeter grocery only about 2 miles up the road. We enjoyed a new restaurant, Islander 71 Beach House. It was very good. We went into Charleston Sunday. Only a short drive. Friday night's traffic was fine for us however, Saturday's traffic into the island for our friends was heavy. Sunday was no problem when going to Charleston. We'll be back & will definitely look into renting this home again. I also liked the coded entry. No keys to worry about!

### Perfect cottage (5/5 stars)
My wife and I stayed here with her dog and it was a great experience. We didn’t need big space but we needed a fenced in yard and having a second bedroom allowed us to have our grandchildren stop by and stay over one night. The furniture was comfortable and the unit was very clean.

### Wonderful Place! (5/5 stars)
Wonderful place to stay. The property was clean. Close walk to the beach. Loved the outside shower.

### Great beach cottage (5/5 stars)
Great little original beach cottage. Very neat and clean. One street off the beach with a short walk and easy access. 2 BR with Jack and Jill bath. Great for small family or 2 couples who are VERY comfortable traveling together and don’t mind sharing a bathroom in close proximity.

### Nice location (5/5 stars)
It was in the perfect location. Nice quiet area. Perfect beach accesses.

### Best location! (4/5 stars)
The house itself was immaculate and the location was amazing- however, there were ants everywhere outside to the point we could not be outside at all and when we checked in they were even coming inside at one point. We called the after hours line and let them know what was happening and they said that they couldn't do anything because it was not considered an emergency. We were pretty upset about it and ended up just going to buy ant spray to try to get it taken care of ourselves. The next day someone did come and spray for us, and the house itself was immaculate but we were just frustrated with the ants. The location was AMAZING and could not be beat! The house was stocked with everything we needed to cook, too. The ants were obviously out of anyone's control, it was just how the after hours company handled it that upset us. We will defiantly book through Island Realty again!

### Great location, clean and well appointed home (5/5 stars)
We loved it, just across the street from the beach. Big fenced back yard for the dog. Cooked all our meals in the well stocked kitchen. A/C was very cool and comfortable. Thank you for sharing your lovely island home with us!

### Smaller home with Great Location (4/5 stars)
Home was as described and was close to beach access. Good size for the two of us and my dog. Older home and could use some updates/repairs.

### Clean Comfortable Convenient to beach home (5/5 stars)
This was our first time to the low-country, and this home couldn't have been more conveniently located to the beach. It was about a 5 minute walk across the (unfortunately busy) street and down a walkway between the houses to reach the beach. We ate all our meals out except breakfast, the home had everything we needed for setting up a breakfast in the morning. As there were only two of us, the bathroom situation (one shared bathroom between the two bedrooms) was not an issue for us, but this could be an issue if there were more than two people. We appreciated the shower in the backyard to rinse off after returning from the beach. Having a washer/dryer in the house was wonderful, beach towels can be a mess. It was also convenient to get to Charleston from here, about a 30 min drive. For two of us, we would definitely rent this place again. We enjoyed "Acme Low Country Kitchen" restaurant (great seafood, She Crab soup is delicious), "Long Island Cafe" (for brunch, also great seafood), "Home Team BBQ" (on Sullivan's Island, great ribs, and we are from TX originally), and also went to the Charleston Crab House (downtown Charleston for a great crab boil). All of them are a bit more expensive, but that is expected in a beach town.

### Great Little Beach Bungalow (5/5 stars)
This spot was a perfect place for a quick getaway. It was just my husband and myself and found the place clean and comfy. Location can't be beat and there was plenty of places to store things. One other thing that we loved was that since it is an older home, there were no steps to navigate. If you have an elderly person (or pet) this is really a treat! Only issue was when we turned the dishwasher on the last day, there was a huge leak/issue and water was pouring onto the floor. I was able to call maintenance and they said they would respond, but since we were on our way out I can't comment on if the issue was fixed. I would for sure stay here again, so nice you can bring your pup. There are two home also with construction. Noise was not an issue, but there were several delivery trucks parked on the side of the road and could make it hard to navigate in and out if you had multiple cars. THese are all minimal things and I would still recommend to anyone looking for a well maintained affordable property which also accepts pets!

### Spectacular small cottage on IOP (4/5 stars)
This house was not only perfectly located - about a 5 minute walk to the beach. It was perfect for our family of 3, plus our dog. Everything has been updated, property was clean & easy to maintain on vacation. Central air was perfect as it was oppressively hot & humid. There is a new smart TV, which we were thrilled with. Our one recommendation is there is zero cabinet space for non perishables. We put everything on the counter or on top of the fridge. Not a big deal but would have liked more storage. Also, traffic is very heavy crossing the main road to get to the beach. Crosswalks are few & far between. Very dangerous when you are dragging your beach gear, small child & dog.

### Loved it. (5/5 stars)
Super cozy, pretty little bungalow. Close to the beach. Loved it.

### A Perfect Place (5/5 stars)
This house was perfect for my family. It was conveniently located a short walk to the beach. It remained pleasantly cool and everything worked perfectly - except for the vacuum cleaner which needs a new filter. I would most definitely recommend this property to anyone looking and I will not hesitate to stay here again.

### Morton Family Beach Vacation (5/5 stars)

### SUPER CUTE PERFECT LITTLE BEACH HOUSE (5/5 stars)
If I owned a beach house, this is exactly what I would want. A little cinderblock house with the comforts of home, some cozy couches, a nice range but with the ease of dropping your beach towels next to side door to sweep the sand up later.Loved our stay there.

### Near beach (5/5 stars)
A cold day in Isle of Palms is a lot nicer than any winter day in Vermont

### Met our needs. (4/5 stars)
The home at 35th Ave #3 was clean, comfortable and basic. Fantastic location . Good shower, good functional kitchen. The only thing which would have improved our stay would be a nice functional TV with adequate service. Otherwise, it was okay.

### Small but convenient (5/5 stars)
Clean and convenient one block from beach

### A Comfortable Little Cottage (5/5 stars)
The property was as advertised. Clean and functional for our family of 3. Solid furnishings and new carpet. WiFi works great and there is even a little workspace in the bonus room. Kitchen has all the basics. Short walk to the beach. (The one shared bathroom is small. This might prevent a problem for a larger party; but it worked out for our family.)

### Memorial Day (4/5 stars)
The house was well maintained including clean fenced back yard and dog house. Once we figured how to operate the shower, water flow was good. It was nice being close to the beach to visit during the curfew. The only negative was the adjacent construction projects, in which the work started before posted quiet hours ended.

### Little beach house (5/5 stars)
Our 3rd stay. Upgraded since last time. New carpet and couch. Perfect for a couple and a big dog. Cross the street and you are on a beach path. It would be helpful to add a gas grill soon. Maintence crew is always welcome but ask that they call ahead prior to visit so you can be dressed. MW and TW

### Small & Basic but close to the beach. (3/5 stars)
Although this property has the ability to sleep at least 6, the overall accommodations is best suited for 2. The bathroom which is shared between the 2 bedrooms is extremely small and is a challenge to use. The house was very clean and if you plan to just sleep there it works. There is a fenced in backyard for your dog but there is not access to it from the house. A guest needs to walk their pet around to it. The kitchen has minimal counter space and just the essentials. A guest should plan on bringing everything from napkins to salt and pepper. Our stay was off season which might explain the bare essentials, and it is not an easy place to cook in. The Island Realty staff was great, and took care of a few problems immediately upon contacting them. It is an acceptable property if you do not plan on spending much time in it and your number of guests is small. Thank you to Jenny Tuk for making me aware of the property.

### Basic rental close to the beach (4/5 stars)
House is a basic JC Long house, perfect for a single or couple. This is very basic, no frills. But there’s a nice fenced yard for dogs, the heat pump works, the location is great – very easy to get to the beach, and a relatively uncrowded part of the beach. My main complaint: please buy a TV that isn’t 30 years old!

### Isle of Palms (4/5 stars)
It was a great location but not the best place to stay in... but for what we needed it was perfect.

### 35th Ave 3 (5/5 stars)
We love this house. We’ve stayed here before and hope to again.

### Perfect little house. (5/5 stars)
This is a sweet little house about a block from the beach path. Everything was fantastic inside the house. It was very clean and it smelled really fresh when we walked in. The living room furniture was brand new, fully stocked kitchen, nice washer and dryer, and the beds were comfy. I slept like a baby. Other than the beach itself, sleeping is the only other thing I care about when I’m there Oh, and the best part is that it was ready early check in, so we were able to get in there and out in the beach about 4 hours earlier than we thought we would The location is amazing, you are across the road from the beach and only about 5 minutes from town. The beach isn’t crowded, that’s what I love about IOP. All in all this was the perfect gia getaway for the price. You really can’t beat it. If I had 1 complaint it would be that the shrub is growing over the sidewalk, but let’s be serious, who cares if you get smacked in the head with a leaf, you’re at the beach. There are way worse things to worry about. I did read several reviews complaining about the ants. Yes, there are ants, but again, no big deal unless you plan on laying down in the driveway. Ants are ants, they are a nuisance and hard to combat. Again, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things! Oh, and I don’t want to leave out the girls at check in/check out, they were super down to earth and sweet. I have went through another property management agency at IOP before and it the experience was not near as pleasant.

### Wonderful week at the beach (5/5 stars)
Great location and perfect size for me and my husband. Clean, quite, private and adequately appointed. Could use an upgrade on the TVs.

### Simple and just right (5/5 stars)
We have great luck with island Realty. They’ve got the process down to an art! This stay was no exception. Smooth late checkin and the propert was clean and ready for us. This house has an amazing location for beach access - literally a half block to the access path. The house is quite simple, and the pictures show that well, so you won’t be surprised. It was just my wife and me and our dog, so it was ample space. Kitchen was well equipped for all our cooking needs. If you’re looking for small, cozy and simple this would be a great choice.

### Feels like home - 3rd year in a row! (4/5 stars)
Very sweet and clean house close to the beach! The only issue is that the yard is working alive with ants. My dog was bitten on the paw and we incurred $150.00 worth of vet bills once home. As for the house, it is great but would not bring a pet.

### Great home for couple or small family! (5/5 stars)
We visited Isle of Palms 5/12-5-19/18. We had a wonderful vacation. The home was perfect for the two of us. We each had our own bedroom and shared a bathroom. Anything we needed was there. The beach is in easy walking distance. Grocery store and lots to do very close by. We didn't want to leave!

### Great house, great location! (5/5 stars)
My family had a fantastic stay at 3 35th! The property was flawlessly clean and the check in and check out process was fast and easy. Thank you Island Realty and VRBO!

### Wonderful week (5/5 stars)
This is the perfect house of our family with pet friendly yard and house. The location is perfect just a very short walk to the beach. Dogs and kids enjoyed the yard.

### Our Stay at 35th Ave 3 Isle of Palms (4/5 stars)
We were satisfied and enjoyed our stay. The pet friendly part was good but I would suggest that when the owner makes changes that he/she not use white berber carpet. The ants on the foyer and driveway are aggravating but the house was fine.

### Great dog friendly cottage for our young family (5/5 stars)
We stayed in the cottage with our four young children and labrodar retriever. You can't beat the location and proximity to the beach for the price. The interior was clean and what you would expect for the price. Island realty was very helpful and quick to respond when a light went out. Overall, a lovely experience.

### Our week at IOP beaches. (5/5 stars)
The house was exactly what we were seeking mainly because of the pets welcome; even at $150 surcharge. If we had been looking for elegancethis wasn't it. But, hey, it was way better than camping. Our wants includedhot water, beach accessible, cooling, privacy. We got those.

### Close to the Beach (5/5 stars)
Great location. Backyard had no patio furniture and no door from inside directly out to the fenced in area. Perfect size for a couple and awesome that dogs are welcome too.

### Cozy Cottage (5/5 stars)
Was the perfect size for our needs. Will def be booking again. Only down side was no direct door to the fenced-in back yard.

### Charming Cottage and Wonderful Stay (5/5 stars)
This home is likely one of the originals built by J.C. Long, not typical of what is so common on the island today. While not possessing the latest and greatest, the home was up to date and we found it charming. It could use a little cosmetic TLC but everything needed was there and worked perfectly; the home was very clean and odorless; it was well furnished and very comfortable including the mattresses. The location is outstanding and the property managers were great. We couldn't have been more pleased with the property and experiencing a little bit of the old Isle of Palms was an added bonus. Finally, our appreciation of the home reflects having formerly resided in Mount Pleasant for 17 years, there aren't too many of these homes remaining.

### Isle of Palms House (3/5 stars)
Good location, close walk to the beach. House setup inconvenient inside if you have more than 4 guests as the bathroom sites in between the bedrooms with no alternative access. The house should be maintained better outside.

### Great Last Minute Family Reunion Vacancy at Fair Rates (4/5 stars)
Being pressed for time and money to you through a small family gathering in three days had it catered and coming across the very educated and professional realtors and Island Realty I got extremely lucky for a last-minute deal that worked out perfect location space there was only a couple of things I would have changed one being the appropriate size/visibility of the address on the exterior of the rental property and also the lawncare service with insecticide properly maintained might have been helpful to control the ants invading the driveway and picnic table area. The interior was extremely adequate in size and very clean with an abundance of appliances and linens, however an ice- maker included with the refrigerator/freezer would have been most appreciated. Overall our brief stay in this quaint cottage close to the beach was extremely gratifying. Our family will recommend Island Realtors esp. thanks to Tori for all her dedicated efforts in the planning of a very memorable occasion for us all.

### Wonderful Cottage! (5/5 stars)
We loved the place! It was close to the beach and had a very warm feeling about it. Awesome location. The ants are bad on the driveway and yard but that was the only downside. We really enjoyed the cottage!

### A great September vacation in Isle of Palms SC (5/5 stars)
Maintenance people entered without notice while we were preparing to go out. Not even a knock on the door!!! They were lucky, this time!!! I hope you have corrected that issue. With that said, the rental was a nice older home, and was a good home base for the things we wanted to see and do.( We know it is a pet friendly rental, but the rugs could use a good cleaning.)

### Very Happy! (5/5 stars)
First time to the Isle of Palms. The house was perfect for my wife and myself and our two dogs. The beach is large and not crowded. Easy access to get to the beach. Lots of ants outside, but not in the house at all. Only issue with the house that we had was the dryer did not have heat. It was quickly fixed once we called it in to the management company.

### Enjoyed stay (5/5 stars)
Loved the house. Not the ants! Not in the house BUT everywhere outside. Vacuum cleaner had a horrible odor when in use. Smelled like something had died. Other than those 2 issues.. It was awesome!!!

### may getway (5/5 stars)
my husband, dog and I have rented from island realty many times. we usually stayed at 314 palm blvd. and were saddened that it was no longer available as a rental. my husband and I liked this property very much except for the bed which was too soft for me (I like a firm mattress). the neighborhood was wonderful to walk our dog with large live oak trees shading the road. beware though, it was easy to get lost in the maze of avenues! the walk to the beach was short just difficult to cross palm blvd at times with all the traffic. I did get locked in the outside shed one morning and talked to the property manager about this, hopefully it will be rectified and not be a problem in the future. my husband really enjoyed the layout of the house with two bathroom doors giving the bathroom a more open feeling. we both really liked the kitchen/laundry room with all the windows and spent a lot of time there. the kitchen wasn't really very well equipped with limited pots and pans, measuring devices, no pizza pan, etc. we bought a plastic drain to wash our dishes and left it there. overall we really enjoyed staying there and thank you for providing such outstanding service.
