(5/5 stars) This was quite possibly the cleanest and best functioning beach rental my family has ever enjoyed! From the first steps in the door, we could tell that the owners wanted to provide a well-appointed experience for their guests. The furniture was comfortable and nice- not worn out. The kitchen was stocked with everything including a crock pot, immersion blender, and plenty of knives, to name a few of the things that aren't always present. Bathrooms were loaded with towel bars and hooks. Because we vacation in the early season, we didn't use the pool much, but when my kids took a quick dip, the area was quiet, private, and comfortable. Although there was evidence of an extensive underground plumbing project going on, the work was not intrusive on our stay and was tidied up each day. The property's dunes and natural beauty impressed us each day. There was a family of 5 deer that lived in the vegetation alongside our boardwalk. We saw them daily enjoying their grazing. The beachfront was spacious at low tide and provided long shallow tidal areas to wade through at high tide. There was still walkable dry beach at high tide as well. Our family of 7 (2 grandparents, 2 parents, 3 kids 8-12) had a wonderful time. During the week, we took day trips to Barrier Island Ecotours, Patriots Point (USS Yorktown), and Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. The preponderance of stay have been at Beach Club Villas with a few at Ocean Club, Seascape, Ship Watch and Mainer’s Walk. Several times my wife and I stayed at Port O’Call during Spring or Fall visits in addition to family Summer. Therefore we have had a variety of hosts. Our stay at 67 BCV was very pleasant. My only irritation (minor) was the requirement to come by the office for entry passes to Wild Dunes. No keys were involved, so either email or text with printable pass and code would be more convenient, which some other vendors use. The condo was suitably furnished. The wi-fi worked well. There was different notices on which WiFi and passwords to use but that quickly was remedied. The kitchen was equipped ok but from past trips, we brought our own muffin pans. The downstairs was probably over furnished for our family of five: four adults and one teen. It seemed like extra formal chairs were crowded into the living space. The screened porch was a delight with comfortable seating and tables. The wall decorations were cute. The location was perfect: very close to the beach walk way and near enough to the pool but not so close as to be bothered by noise. The beach at this point was deeper than further north and useable even at high tide. To the north and south high tide flooded the areas. To the south, beach was not useable at high tide. There is no beach equipment available. We were a little concerned about the noise ordinance and it was confusing about whether or not we could even be outside. I would have liked a heads up and a little clarity about the ordinance before or during booking (the signs in the unit say absolutely no noise from 10pm to 10am -which feels a little ridiculous). It seems there have been many issues between locals and rentals. But we loved the outdoor space and views of the ocean. It’s about a 40 min drive from this unit to downtown Charleston. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable and bathrooms in good condition. We have been coming to Isle of Palms/Wild Dunes for many years. This villa is in a wonderful location and has the feel of a private home with privacy from neighbors. The view is stunning from the upstairs master and downstairs living room. It is very spacious and would accommodate 7 or maybe 8 comfortably. We only had 3 on our visit. The beach is around 150 steps from the back porch. We had very few around us so plenty of space to enjoy the beautiful ocean. We saw deer right off the dunes eating from the tons of blackberry bushes within just a few feet of the the walkway to the beach. Such a fun sight. The kitchen is beautiful, completely updated with all you will need including new appliances and cabinets which made cooking in fun and easy! Beautiful countertops etc. lots of glassware and small appliances for everything you’ll need.The villa was very clean upon arrival which is always nice. All the bathrooms are functional but could use some updating especially the upstairs twin bedroom bath and the master shower. (The master vanity seems to have been updated). Furniture and bedding is the same...functional but nearing the need for replacement on some items. The carpet (stairs and upstairs) also needs to be replaced soon. With all this being said, the location is phenomenal and I’m guessing the homeowner is going to do more renovations as they did in the kitchen. We enjoyed the stay and would consider staying again in hopes that more renovations are done. We ourselves own rental property and understand the difficulty especially now to get things replaced and renovated. But the rental prices have gone way up so fixes and updates really should be a priority to match the considerably higher rates. The screened in porch was perfect for breakfast and lunch and the deck off the master was our go-to perch for morning and afternoon reading.On the "hope they improve this" side: We would have liked to lock the sliding glass door from the outside when going to walk the beach. The unit also lacked basic cleaning supplies and didn't even have a broom, which is needed when so close to the beach! We could have also benefitted from better reading lamps!Wild Dunes is surprisingly not very accommodating in terms of riding bikes. While there is a path, it is actually dangerous to cycle on it b/c of pedestrians and how narrow it is. Location and layout are fantastic. This particular property has been redone really well, making a great open floor plan on the first floor and redo of all bathrooms.
