The home is beautiful, located in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood, and just a short walk to the beach. The house was exceptionally clean, bright, and inviting, with plenty of windows that let the beautiful sunshine pour in. The furniture was very comfortable, and the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare wonderful gourmet meals. The decor throughout the home was lovely, with so many thoughtful touches that made it feel warm and welcoming. We also enjoyed the wonderful selection of interesting books and games. Big kitchen that was well stocked with pans, etc and a pantry. The living room had plenty of seating as well as reading lamps at every chair. The only concern I had was how high the master bedroom bed was- came to my waist and was a challenge getting up. It has lots of sparkling windows so it’s bright; you feel like you’re outside, but with a/c and no mosquitoes. ��The kitchen was lovely and very well appointed, with higher end appliances and good quality cookware. There were games, puzzles and books for all ages. The owners had a supply of beach gear underneath the house and we used their chairs and Neso sunshade��. The walk to the beach is enjoyable because Hartnett is just a beautiful street, but there is also plenty of beach parking most days, with a nice access right near the crossing. Tip: If you like shelling and tidal pools use the next access north, 37A, and set up there. Also, on the advice of the young lady who checked us in, we ate one night at Acme Low Country Kitchen: chef’s kiss, with The Reserve being a very close second.Thank you to the owners and Island Realty; we had a GREAT time! (5/5 stars) We’ve stayed in this house 2 years in a row. The location is amazing, about a 5 minute walk from the beach. We rent a golf cart and love driving around the island. The house itself is great. Lots of living and dining space, great kitchen. Tons of games and puzzles available for lazy afternoons. The bathrooms aren’t perfect, but it is priced very fairly. Just mentioning in case you are traveling with anyone unsure of stairs. There are lots. The drive into any of the surrounding areas was easy and it was always so relaxing to come back to this place at the beach. The house was very clean and well decorated for a beach vacation. There is an atypical set up to the house but we enjoyed it and the spacious rooms. There are many steps to get in the house for those who have trouble with stairs. Close to the beach - 7 minute walk, lots of beach equipment to use, games for the kids, plenty of kitchen equipment to use and a washer and dryer. My kids loved the large bedrooms and full size beds! House was well-appointed and attractive and comfortable but I missed having disposal and ice maker. Parking for 1 car was great - but it would have been difficult to get a 2nd car into the space. The location was in a wonderful residential neighborhood - very quiet. The location could not be beat. The screened in porch was well used (and you’ll be very grateful because those bugs are biting in the Carolinas! Pack your bug spray!) thanks to reading past reviews, we knew to plan around a few things so hopefully this helps you as well!-the stovetop is ancient and does not work well. So don’t plan to impress your family with your culinary skills. But the gas grill is great and we also appreciated the fantastic appliances like the countertop oven for air frying, reheating, and convection baking. -the water pressure in the showers is impressive!! I never have high expectations when on vacation but this really stood out. Especially when you’re showering after a day at the beach (there is an outdoor shower to get the sand off before you come in the house)-renting a golf cart is a MUST. And do it early because they book up. It will run you about $400 for the week. Well worth it. -the upstairs bathroom is HUGE. The shower in that bath is not. So think about this when assigning bedrooms. -the house is very well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen, for the beach, even games, puzzles and books! Save yourself some room in the car and leave your beach chairs at home. Our one complaint—and it’s not the owner’s fault—is the house across the street has several dogs and they are out at all hours. They bark, which is not the dog’s fault, but the inconsiderate owners who leave their two very large dogs (and their four puppies) outside all day and night, and even in the rain. The property manager was so responsive but there’s nothing they can do. My advice is to call the Liveability Police everytime the dogs bark during quiet hours (we were woken nearly every morning at 5, 6, 7 am). They take the noise ordinance in IOP seriously and will make a stop and perhaps even fine the owners. Location to beach was a very easy walk. We did rent a golf cart to make it easier for an older member of our group. Having the washer and dryer in the pantry area was perfect. There were quite a few beach items to use in the open garage area. We didn’t have to use any, but we were pleasantly surprised. Ping pong table was an added fun activity. Appliances were on the smaller side but ok for our group’s needs. Upstairs shower is small. Just worth noting for taller people! Conveniently located to getting on and off IOP, to shops and dining. The house was clean, well stocked and roomy. Some small maintenance issues rot, but nothing that effected our stay. Family rooms spacious and comfortable for all. Fully stocked kitchen. Bedrooms were gorgeous. Note: Only 2 bathrooms for 6-8 people. Will look for 2.5 the next time. Walk to beach was very easy. Loved the screened in porch - fabulous. The trees were gorgeous and made for beautiful breezes through the bottom floor. Only 2 suggestions: 1. None of the porch or beach furniture was cleaned for the summer. Everything still had dried leaves and dirt on them including the ones on the top sun deck. They should have been cleaned and ready to go for guests.2. We reserved for a week and were left 4 packets of machine dishwasher soap - not great customer service. I would rent again. PS to Island Realty: The lawn service guys were at the house and on the porch blowing leaves at 9:45 am on Saturday morning despite the clearly displayed noise ordinance. We're fairly patient people. So it's walk-able, but a very hot walk. I would recommend renting bikes for the week since beach parking is limited.The house is nicely decorated and the HVAC system worked well especially upstairs. As noted in other reviews the kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans, glasses, etc. The only item missing was a 9X13 pan and the oven only had one wire rack. Otherwise it was a lovely place to stay for a week.The rental agency was a bit challenging to contact/work with during the covid pandemic. We could tell the owners paid attention to every detail. One thing I loved was the quality of furniture. Everything was comfortable. No cheap couches or chairs. Even a hammock in the backyard! The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans which we used throughout the week. There was also plenty of space for us to put our groceries. We enjoyed playing board games which were an unexpected surprise in the house. We loved playing ping pong with the kids. The house was clean. The beds were comfortable. It is also close to the grocery store and local fish market. Very comfortable seating and beds. We are a family of 7 so the shared master bath with one sink and small shower not so convenient. Also we did not use the outdoor shower since it was not very inviting. We also wished for a grill! Did spend time inside to escape afternoon thundershowers, but the Big screen TV supplied plenary of good entertainment. A little high rental price considering only 2 baths. Kitchen stove a little outdated.
