Many of the switches on lamps did not work and there were not enough bathroom towel hooks to hang towels. Beds were comfy, most of us had our own bed and were able to share the 3 kings very easily. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to make dinner, drink wine, make margaritas, and have lots of coffee (2 pots and a Keurig). The open floor plan was great for evening gatherings and the smaller study/room was perfect for reading or getting away. The porch was perfect with nice weather. It was too cold for the pool but was an easy walk to the beach each morning. very convenient location to the grocery store, bagel shop, nail salon, liquor store and several restaurants. If there was any downside (and it's very minor) is there are no left over spices, oils, condiments on hand so if you're just coming from the weekend, you'll need to bring all that stuff. And maybe some extra bath towels. There was one per person but would have been nice to have extra towels in a linen closet. It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach and everyone had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was nice and updated, beds were comfortable, and everything was well kept. There were a few things that could be improved! 1. We were not left with the proper amount of bath towels to have 1 per person, the maintenance team quickly resolved this issue the next morning! 2. We had 16 people and the pool deck is a little cramped and the pool could have been cleaned better prior to arrival, but it was the perfect temperature and still enjoyed by everyone! 3. The dishwasher needed a deep clean, there was a strong smell coming from the dishwasher from the first day, and dishwasher/laundry detergent was not provided 4. There was not enough silverware in the house for 16 people, we brought our own plastic silverware to account for this! 5. pool towels are not provided so be sure to bring your own! Lastly, there is some general wear and tear on a lot of the furniture, walls, etc. which is to be expected on a rental. Most of our time was spent enjoying outside so this was not an issue!! Overall it was a great stay. While we were disappointed we could not get an early check in, were were still able to get into the unit earlier than 4 PM and the office graciously let us store our bags there while we waited! The location and access was perfect. All the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was undergoing routine maintenance at the time of our visit. However, the pool was mostly cloudy the entire time we were there and we barely used the pool. The only downsides I would recommend giving more attention to is the housekeeping. The main living room and kitchen floors were not very clean and need a deep cleaning. The ice maker was nice; however, guests noticed their was mold forming near the filter and it was obvious it needed a cleaning. One guest stated there was dried ice cream left on the ice cream scooper and a few other utensils that had to be cleaned before use. The overall bathrooms were spacious; however, the water flow in some of the sinks was not great. Specifically in the front master bedroom on the left sink. The bath areas could use some updating and more life to fit the rest of the house's décor style. Overall, I would definitely stay in this house. The house is large with a nice sized pool. The house was clean with the beds made and towels provided. The house shows a some wear as one would expect but the beds and furniture were very comfortable. The lounge chairs around the pool could be better if cushioned but not a big deal. Island Realty provided a list of vendors that allowed us to rent golf carts, crib, toys, groceries, etc all of which were at the house when we arrived. We had beach chairs and umbrellas set up for us every day at the beach. The house is a block off the beach so if you are looking for ocean views this is not the right property. It is an easy walk to the beach and if you don’t feel like walking, you can park the golf cart next to the beach path. We spent mornings at the beach and afternoons at the pool. There is a great outdoor grill kitchen next to the pool with fridge and sink. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff at Island Realty were very helpful and friendly. We called maintenance to come and fix the pool. They came and put blue dye in the pool. The Palm trees that are around the pool need to be trimmed. Things kept falling off the palm trees and kept getting in the pool and setting on the bottom. The water in the showers only needs to be turned on about 1/4 of the way or it scalds you. We loved the dining and gathering spaces with plenty of seating and there was even a separate "den" downstairs where adults or kids could relax and watch a movie/tv. Most bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and there is even a full bath by the pool. The kitchen was fairly well equipped (not quite enough silverware for a large group) and there are two refrigerators. The house is located between two beach accesses, so expect a 3-5 minute walk to the beach. Parking is a bit of a challenge for multiple cars due to a one lane, narrow driveway. The windows had other visitors names written through the dirt on them. Every door was filthy around the handles. The home is a beautiful home, but needs lots of care. The door lock broke the first day. The property definitely accommodates a large group well, with nice spaces for gathering and plenty of areas for separation/privacy. The location is close to beach access, but the major trade-off is traffic and road noise from Palm Blvd. Also, the house seems due for some fresh paint, new carpet, and general maintenance when considered against comparable homes we've rented over the years. The furniture could use some attention as well. Wi-Fi is available, but is quite slow and does not extend throughout the upstairs of the home. Island Realty was excellent from reservation to checkout. We spent most of our time at the beach and in the pool. The outdoor area is the best I’ve seen. We had 14 people there including 3 under 3 years of age. The bedrooms were large and very comfortable. We did have a problem with The shared bath shower which Island realty set up to be useable during our stay.We walked to the downtown area several times and found the grocery to be convenient and in walking distance.The pool became cloudy about 2 days into the trip and we called. We had some problems with the pool heater but this was corrected quickly by management. The only negative about this stay at this location was that the traffic on Palm Blvd has tripled since our last stay. This is a shame since this is such a great home for all the family. It was noisy at night and it was more of a challenge this time to cross the street to get to the beach. The kitchen was large and very well equipped. The pool was private and very relaxing. There were a couple of things that could be improved - there were not any where near enough towels! Also, while there were sleeper sofas, there were no sheets for them. Fortunately one of our group thought to bring some. Also, the freezer drawer needs repair, I'm not sure how long it's been broken, but it will not last long in it's condition. Also, for a beach rental, we were surprised there were no beach chairs. At this price point I would have expected some. It is an amazing house for a group of girls because of the SEVEN bathrooms! I would highly recommend it to anyone planning a vacation to the beautiful Isle of Palms area. The pool is beautiful and very well kept. The only thing I would change is the number of towels that come with this house. I would recommend 5 towels per bedroom because there are so many bathrooms.
