The eight bedrooms and 4 bathrooms were adequate for our needs. We knew this was an older home and expected some quirkiness and indeed, we got that. We were surprised however, that the standard of cleaning and repairs were not very high. The stair railing was not tight; only a trickle of water at the sink in one of the downstairs bathrooms; some bathrooms had no bathmats; sofa slipcovers were dirty, excessive mold in a couple of the bathrooms, especially corner of tubs/molding; no latch on screen door at downstairs porch; upstairs screen porch floor was very dirty; and cushions on outdoor wicker furniture of upstairs porch need to be replaced. The house has 8 bedrooms and was a perfect size for us The kitchen was well equipped with dishes, glasses etc and there were plenty of seating for meals and living room chairs. The beach access was great and the screened porch a perfect place for morning coffee. We were down for a conference with some members of our team and didn't experience any real issues at all. The internet had some trouble a few times, but I doubt that is on the owners. The walk to the beach was not too far, but if you have some physical limitations, you should be aware that the general walk doesn't have a handrail and the path can be a bit arduous. It wasn't an issue for us, but one of our friends pointed that out. The house itself was really nice and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The main meeting areas also provided more than enough space to meet together and the kitchen was pretty well appointed -- at least above our expectation. Our extended family enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving beachfront. It was a quick fairly easy walk to one of the biggest beaches in the SE. We enjoyed multiple eating areas including room for 10 on the screen porch. The rental company was quick to respond. Our only complaint were the mattresses which need to be replaced in most rooms. We had bedrooms for every couple, and plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen and dining areas were large enough to accommodate cooking and eating in. But the best area was the porch facing the sand dunes and water! It is right on the beach and approximately half way between the park and marina. Palm Blvd houses are so far from the beach hard for someone in later years to walk the distance plus going over sand dunes. This house is well equipped for cooking, with lots of pots, pans, glasses, serving dishes, etc. The open floor plan on both floors was perfect. The porches were big and gave a beautiful view of the beach. The house and grounds are beautifully decorated, and we add everything we needed for small or large dinner gatherings. The dunes and beach are splendid, and we were able to enjoy nice restaurants on Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island, and tour Charleston as well. Wild Dunes golf courses and Charleston National are great close by golf courses. Wednesday nights at Awendah Green is great live music and food (cash only). We would not hesitate to rent this house again. If anything, it is a bit nicer than the listing portrays it.
