We liked this condo and would come back. However, we did not know about the beach project which was directly in front of us. They worked day and night. We had to make a long trek (unexpected) to get to the beach. We also heard the machinery all night long. This should have been shared with us. It had everything needed, and the proximity to the beach and view from the balcony were a plus. A word of caution: the pool pictured from the balcony belongs to the property next door and is not accessible. The pool that belongs to the Port o Call complex was a disappointment. It was closed the first day for repairs (pump), and once it reopened it did not appear that the repairs were effective, as there was a dead crab at the bottom and the water was cloudy. This unit is older and in need of some upgrades. Very low water pressure as well. It’s just missing some things that other units we have stayed in at POC already have to make a guest feel comfortable. It was not very clean upon our arrival, so I did a lot of that myself. Otherwise, POC is the BEST location for a short stay on IOP. Island Realty is the absolute best company to rent from, and has always been our choice when coming down. No instructions for TV in the den and it took some time to figure out interface with Roku remote and Xfinity remote. Initially volume would not work. TV remote in bedroom would not change channels. This time we had a spur of the moment trip, and stayed in a condo we've never been to before. We stayed at Port O Call A203 03/29/25 to 04/01/25. The room was adequate, not as nice as others we have stayed in. The toaster didn't work, the glass coffee table had a broken leg and would not stay together. The AC was marginal at best, with outdoor temperatures in the 70s it struggled to keep the room cooled. Wasps that had overtaken the screened in porch - the screening did not cover the entire porch, with about 3 inches opening at the bottom on all sides letting in wasps at will. The beach location was not good at all. There was very little beach and at high tide there was zero beach available even to walk. No boardwalk or clear walking paths to the water, just a single wide sand rabbit trail. The pool was closed for some reason, but you could still lay outside on the deck. There needs to instructions how to use them. They both used xfinity but one was a smart tv and the other wasn’t. You had to select the correct input mode and they weren’t identified by name, and the channel menu was different. Lastly they were both unplugged and it was aggravating to find that out plus we had to move furniture to plug them in. There are no ceiling fans in the bedroom or living room and they could get stuffy. The layout was great, there was plenty of room for 2 people. The view is amazing, we could actually hear the ocean at night from the bedroom even with the windows closed. We found it got a little stuffy during the day and at night even with the air on so we kept the windows open when we could to have some air circulating throughout. A small fan would have been a nice addition, but the windows did the trick. We loved the location, the condo, and the service provided by Island Realty. The Port O Call development is excellent for couples who prefer the company of other adults. The rental was very clean but had a couple of minor issues (torn out screen, broken cable box) that we reported and were repaired and replaced quickly. The location had a great view of the beach and was a pretty close walk to the pool and beach. The unit was nicely decorated and comfortable and clean.The kitchen was well stocked and fine for the two of us. A fan over the bed in the bedroom would be a nice addition since it was warmer in there than the rest of the unit. The mgmt company was very responsive to our needs and fixed the two items we noted quickly, but I would rather they checked for repairs before our arrival. I found Island Realty very easy to work with. I called them on our way in as we were arriving before 4pm and they let us go ahead and enter the property early. We really appreciated the location of this condo as the complex is right on the beach so we could just walk out and head down the path the beach. The condo was decorated very nice. The couch in the living area was very comfortable. The kitchen area was gorgeous with the granite counters and nice lighting. It helped motivate us to cook some during our stay. There were plenty of dishes, cookware, silverware, etc. for the 2 of us. We really liked sitting out on the screened porch and eating breakfast or dinner. There were only 2 negatives that stand out in my mind. The first is it didn't appear that the owner subscribed to HD cable service and they just had basic cable. I know it's probably petty because we're at the beach and do we really need to watch tv, but we like to at night before going to bed. I've probably become spoiled with technology but it's hard to watch non-HD channels these days. The other negative was that there wasn't enough cold air flowing to the bedroom from the A/C. We didn't contact maintenance and I wish we had but by the time I was going to, we only had another day left on our trip so I didn't bother. Overall I thought this was a nice place and the renovations were very nice. I also felt the place was clean which is a big plus to us. Cheryl, the housekeeper that had this condo ready for us, did a good job. However, this rental has never been painted once in all the times we’ve stayed. Please, decent silverware and dishes. Pleasant. Everything we needed was available - well stocked kitchen, bedroom with extra blankets. The unit was clean, the seating indoor and on porch was comfortable as was the queen bed; however, no soft pillow available. We enjoyed the pool and ocean views from the LR and porch. A well as the easy access to beach. Although not updated for furnishings, this unit was more than adequate. . The walls could stand to be repainted - looking used. Also, we could hear all the footsteps and voices (low sound) from the above unit. In March, the entire complex was quiet, even on the weekend; parking our car was convenient. Overall, we found this unit to be an easy rental that met all our needs. (5/5 stars) Our family divided our spring break trip into 3 different stops. Isle of Palms was the second stop on our trip. I don't have one negative thing to say about this condo. I was worried since it wasn't directly facing the ocean but from our balcony we could still see the ocean from a side angle just fine! Literally steps away from the beach! Full kitchen, washer and dryer which was extremely nice to have so we didn't have to bring wet and sandy clothes home, spacious, etc.. Since there was only 1 bedroom our 13 year old slept on the pull out bed in the living room which she said was very comfortable. I would 100% stay here again. We found the unit to be clean, great layout, nice view of the beach, well furnished/supplied and very close beach access. We had no problem finding parking very near our building. All units are near the stairs and elevator. I especially liked that the living room, kitchen and dining area were on one side of a very large entry area and the bedroom and bath were on the other side.
