Very disappointing and had I known in advance I might have cancelled or changed to another location. The bathroom needs serious attention: water damage on the ceiling, mold on the floor behind the door, the shower is installed for a 7 foot individual, the water in the shower is installed incorrectly (cold is hot and vice versa). Otherwise condo appointed adequately - plenty of linens, decent kitchen utensils and appliances. No plastic wrap, zip loc bags, aluminum foil at all for leftovers.Please invest in a decent chef's knife or get them sharpened. Little to no cell service in this location. We love the location however this unit needs some upgrades and love. I would choose a diff unit next stay. Counter stools, the pull out sofa is almost unusable it’s so old, the toilet was running, the door to porch is falling off hinges and can’t open with how it hits the floor, among other things. Nothing beats laying in bed watching the moon over the ocean and thenWaking up to the sunrise. Location was drive dependent to grocery stores/ food but if you come prepared, you don’t have to leave. Very kid friendly! The patio even had beach chairs and sand toys for kids. (No baby proofed outlets or cabinets- and the first thing we did was move all the decor to higher ground) but the pocket doors were great baby gates for the most part. Few things we noticed- not a big deal, but could use improvements. The bar stools at the kitchen were just high. So legs didn’t really fit under the counter height. And... the shower fixture was also quite high. I am 5’6 and had to tippy toe and reach high for the hand held. So I guess it’s suited for taller people. Or not use of the handle feature. Also, my personal preference, but I would have preferred all of the lightbulbs to be “warm white”, with the lack of light pollution in Wild Dunes area- my preference would have been a softer, less “sterile” look. But otherwise great spot! And just a FYI - when sitting in the dining room, close the blinds or all the people using the elevator will stare at you as they walk by lolLoved the comfortable bed, the sound of the waves, the kitchen had everything we needed. Some helpful things we brought in addition, my own champagne glass and stopper, water bottles - but my husband did say there was a Britta filter in the cabinet, our own beach towels, and of course our own pack and play. No tub so if your little needs that- bring it.We rented beach umbrellas and chairs and it was super convenient.We don’t have time to try the pool but it was also quite close. This vacation had me dreaming of coming back and owning a place here! It was so peaceful and with two young children- they had an amazing time playing in the sand. Had trouble with disposal and finally got a new one after day 3. Layout is great, kitchen items should be updated, Grab Bars do not exist. ALL units should have grab bars in the shower and exiting the show. Guests were in 80s.Light bulbs. Put some in the unit. Round glass in microwave doesn't fit. Wrong size. We stayed in this same unit last year. This unit needs updating on its cookware and glassware. It has no wine glasses unless martini glasses are supposed to serve as wine glasses. For the second year in a row we have had to ask our daughter who lives in Park Circle to loan us some wine glasses. There are no cutting boards and no sheet pan for doing a frozen pizza. Also, the refrigerator door will not shut securely so we were constantly finding it open. The trash bag (yes, just one) was thin as dry-cleaner cover bag. You get one bath towel for the week and no extra. There is no flat top "coffee" table in the TV room. We had to request assistance with getting the television to work. When the technician arrived he was able to help us with the living room television, but not with the bedroom television. He said he would have to contact the owner and at that time he did not have the owner's contact information. He never returned to get this television operational. He did however make arrangements to have a much needed broom delivered to our unit. Access to the beach is literally just a few steps down the porch stairs. We appreciated how quiet and peaceful it was around our unit. The bedroom was spacious with plenty of storage space for our clothes. We liked the design of the rental that allowed us to close the doors between the kitchen/living room and the bedroom to create privacy. The only improvements is a few more kitchen items, as simple as a pizza pan. One night we bought a bake-at-home pizza from the grocery store only to find the unit did not have any bakeware. It was very frustrating to have a kitchen without some basics. The unit could use a deep cleaning, but it was good enough for our few days stay. (3/5 stars) The unit has excellent views. Nice deck seating. The sofa and chairs in the living room are comfortable. Nice 75-inch Samsung TV. The bed, however, is a different story; it needs to have the box springs and mattress replaced. The mattress is a mainstay mattress from Walmart. The date on the tag is Dec 2021. Woke up sore every morning. For the amount you pay for a week in this unit, it's a small thing to ask that the bed have more than a Wal-Mart mattress on it. The shower door would not slide. We called maintenance to fix it. We tried the door that evening, and the bracket fell right off. To fix the door properly the track needed to be taken off and the guide bracket installed properly. We did not call back to maintenance as we expected the same outcome once the person "fixed" the problem. It was pretty; however, there a few things that need to be tended to.1. The bed was terrible! New mattress needed badly.2. The shower door does not work. One of the doors is off the track.3. The upholstered sofa is sort of grungy.4. There is a fold up rocker on the screened in porch that I tried to sit in. It started to pitch me, buy fortunately my husband was helping me and rescued me from falling. (5/5 stars) Great location with constant view of ocean and the dunes. The two comfy chairs on the porch were definitely our favorite spot for taking in this view, and the porch’s immediate access to the beach made it all the better! The condo had all the amenities we needed for a full 4 night stay with no real reason to leave after we acquired food supplies from the grocery store only 10 minutes away.Our only issue was noticing that the porch we enjoyed so much is in need of some care. Both wood and metal connectors over head are rapidly degrading, likely due to the salty air. This became very apparent when someone chose to hammer and drill on porch above, leading to chips of wood and rusted metal raining down on us. We were able to use the broom and dust pan to clean off porch, then continuing to enjoy the location.
