(3/5 stars) 100% Best location you can get! If you are the person that says "we just sleep there" this is the place for you. Thats it though! Unit was extremely old, outdated, smelled like a mix of grandma's house and wet dog, uncomfortable furnishings, and more rules than being in school. Lastly, walls are THIN and upstairs wakes up at 5am ready to workout every day. Starting with the bedroom. Stuff stored under the bed. Not sure what it was, I really did not want to know. We had to move the mattress to access the outlet and thats when we saw it. Not sure what was with the mattress, it was extremely noisy. Almost like it was stuffed w/ paper. Broken luggage rack in the closet. A throw pillow with yellow stains and a large hole in it. Only 4 hangers in the closet. NO mirror. Only 1 mirror in the unit which was in the bathroom. Very small tables with a small lamp on the sides of the bed. Kitchen cabinets and appliances looked new. 2 very small ice cube trays. Splattered grease on the back of the stove and a greasy stove top(even though we did not use the stove I did clean it. I could not stand to look at it). Dirty kitchen carpet that has seen better days. Need to throw it out. Wine glasses were very small. Guessing they are from the 50's or 60's. Take a trip to the Dollar Store. Dishes were just a mismatch of whatever. No set pattern. We had other parties in cabins that were able to let us borrow a peeler & some wine glasses. Wires hanging from TV. Corner shelf that also has seen better days. Really served no purpose. Outlets need to be replaced. Whenever using them you had to prop something against them to keep the plug engaged. Porch banister was not attached to the building. We did get that fixed but how did that not get reported before we arrived. 2 cheap chairs and a beat-up table on the porch. A dirty stained white plastic cart with faded fake plants. The other parties that were with us had very nice rooms so we knew immediately that we had gotten the runt of rooms and that it was not the norm. We flew here so we had to drag our suitcases 2 blocks to our rental. Took an uber to property office. Ages 66 to 78 on a very hot day. U it is dated. Outlets need replacing. Will not hold plugs. Need a trip to the Dollar store for some wine glasses. Glasses provided were very small. Balcony could use some comfortable furniture. Plastic cart is a waste of space. Owners need to put a little money back into unit if you are going to charge that kind of money. Of the 3 units our party rented we definitely got the runt. We loved hearing the sound of the waves through our balcony door. The layout of the condo is good. We liked having a table and 4 chairs. The couch was not supportive for sitting, but was okay for laying and resting on it. Kitchen was great except for the light. It needed new fluorescent bulbs as they were burnt out. Maintenance did not find any bulbs. The bathroom was okay except for the toilet. A filler valve did not work and was replaced by maintenance. The toilet itself was very low and small. The bedroom is small but manageable. The bed however, was very difficult to sleep on. The box spring was very loud. It sounded like corn stalks loudly crackling every time we moved or got off or on the bed. We did put in a complaint about that. Waste of our weekend and money (2/5 stars) Supposed to be a surprise birthday trip, but I wish we had not gone! The beach was nice on Friday, and Acme food was great, but the unit was horrible! (outdated, dirty, and not at all what we had expected) plugs fell out of receptacles, small fridge shoved in dining area, adding to cramped environment, stool for nightstand, mold in shower, smoking on beach, neighbor next door chain smoked and came into unit and deck. bed was hard as a rock and when either my husband or I rolled over, it woke the other one up from the AWFUL noise from boxsprings. 18" from wall to bed on either side, with pictures and exposed hangers at eye level! Living area side table was broken, refrigerator did not work, and luggage stand in closet collapsed because broken as well. The garbage disposal switch was BEHIND the range !!! Receptacles were so old and worn that my husbands CPAP machine would not stay plugged in, nor would our chargers! The microwave kept tripping the breaker to kitchen, and Keri (property manager) told us this was common because they were older units! This unit is small, but for two adults and two teens, it was everything we needed for sleeping and relaxing between meals and jaunts to the beach and pool. The upgraded kitchen and new sliding door to balcony are much appreciated. The bed is okay but mattress is a little squeaky. Hopefully the owner will upgrade the balcony carpet. It is wrinkled and disintegrating which could be a tripping hazard and one chair was broken. Every time we have stayed here there has been a problem with the AC drainage line dripping water into the return vent which makes for a musty odor. The room was dirty when we came in, requiring us to clean it ourselves when we got there. The floor had not been swept and the dishes were dirty. The washers in the laundry mat had mold growing in them. The room was in need of some maintence as well. Some of the outlet covers were missing, the front door is rotting at the bottem, and the tub is cracked. I have could have lived with the state of the room if the price was more in line with the condition. The room either needs to be repaired or the priced dropped around $400 less per week. The accomodations were adequate, but certainly not updated in any way or entirely clean. Used to come very regularly, haven't been in several years. While this condo is a good location, easy access, great view, I was disappointed in the condition of the unit. Very dated. Overall condition is poor, Cabinet doors worn and falling off. Paint and trim shabby. Stove hood has more grease on it than my car engine.Sliding door bent and difficult to move. Curtain at sliding door filthy. I am a maintenance man at a vacation rental cabin facility in the mountains of Western NC, and I understand that things happen, but none of the issues in this unit were result of recent failure, all is result of long term neglect. I didn't expect the unit to be in perfect condition, but a relatively minor investment in this unit would make it attractive and cozy. A decent bed would be nice also. Sea Cabins offers two levels of rental--basic and delux, which means that the basic, or economy are not recently renovated. This cabin does show its age and could use a good refurbishment, however, it worked fine for us, was clean, and everything worked. We were comfortable. It was not an upgraded cabin but clean and the view was awesome. We love the sea cabins and try to stay at least once every year. Our stay wars just after the hurricane. Glad we weren't cooking there, only sleeping as we were busy touring. Rental agency would only give us 2 washcloths/towels each for a 3 night stay. If we wanted more it would be an extra charge. Seriously? Again, great community and location, condo in need of repair desperately. We will definitely stay at sea cabins again! - Anonymous Posted on 10/4/2016 ### Nice Room, but in Need of Repair and Cleaning (4/5 stars) If you're wondering why this room has some great reviews and some horrible ones, it's because the condo itself is great with almost the perfect location. Awesome view. Within walking distance for shopping and meals. Lots of extras to entertain kids (puzzles, games, books, skim boards, etc.). All the amenities you need as well. No, it doesn't have an ice maker like someone mentioned, but there's 5 trays of ice in the full size fridge/freezer. So that complaint was petty.But this room was also FILTHY. There's an inch of dust on the curtain rods and around the top of the shower. The cabinets are old and starting to fall apart. The sliding door track is bent and hard to use. The walls are cracked. The small bed squeaks with any movement. Lots of little stuff management could fix quickly, but they're just not doing it.So it's a nice room, but it easily could be great with a full day of TLC. The couch and blankets were disgusting. The pull out couch was basically a sheet on some springs. Just gross. My kids feet were black day 1 after they got out of the bath tub. We actually checked out a day early because I couldn't stand it anymore. Luckily I was refunded for that night. This Sea Cabin was well stocked with the basics needed for my stay. While it was somewhat clean, the dingy environment made it seem very unclean. With a few cosmetic updates, such as new bedroom carpet, dresser and new paint the cabin would provide a more welcoming environment. The balcony electrical outlet needs to be fixed.
