This condo is very spacious and thoughtfully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, 3 large bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a balcony with incredible views of the community pool and the ocean just off the living room and master bedroom, YouTube TV streaming service is available on all TVs. Linens included. No smoking. No pets. **ATTENTION GUESTS: During high tide there is minimal beach available for beach walking or lounging. Some neighboring complexes may have sand bags out to protect their dunes from erosion. Please do not attempt to walk on the dunes or sand bags.** Beach Renourishment Notice: The island will be undergoing a beach renourishment project between July and September 2026. This important restoration effort helps preserve and protect our beaches for years to come. During your stay, you may notice construction equipment and occasional temporary adjustments to beach access in certain areas. Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions, and guests will continue to have access to the beach throughout the project. It would not cool below 70 degrees, even though we tried. The instructions asked guests to keep it set at 72, but we typically sleep with our home much cooler at night. We live in Alabama, so we're used to hot weather, and our AC at home has no problem keeping the house cool.Unfortunately, the condo stayed too warm for us to sleep comfortably, and we were pretty miserable at night. We had perfect summer weather, frolicked on the beach, enjoyed the pool area. I sat on the balcony overlookng the Atlantic and had coffee each morning, watching pelicans and other sea birds fly past. This was a perfect spot for our staycation. The kitchen was well equipped and met our needs. We had only a couple of small criticisms. The floors weren't properly cleaned when we moved in. And I would have liked a grab bar in the master bathroom's shower. The master bathroom has been beautifully renovated but I was worried each time I stepped out of the shower with wet feet. (5/5 stars) Our family of 4 stayed for a week. We each had our own room and there is ample space for social time. The kitchens is a real full kitchen with everything you need and then some. If I could wish of one more item would be an espresso machine - hahahaha! Everything was completely clean and in good working order. The taste of the decor is very elevated. The matresses and bedding were high end and we slept great. The full size washer/dryer is a very useful addition. The parking under the building is super convenient, and they have lots of carts to take your groceries on teh elevator; just need to be careful with full size cars because the structural columns are close together to support the building. We did not use the pool because it was winter. You can see and hear the ocean, and the walk to the water is very short. Thanks Jenny for all you do to make our numerous vacations there special! - Anonymous Posted on 11/29/2023 ### Beautiful view and easy access to the beach (4/5 stars) Whenever we are planning a trip to the beach, we always look through the reviews from prior guests so I want to be very honest about our experience staying at Shipwatch A 105. I'll begin with the pros: There is a wonderful view of the beach from the living room and primary bedroom and it was great having an easy walk to get to the beach without having to go up and down stairs. The bed in the primary was very comfortable and the decor throughout the unit was beachy and cheerful. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with everything needed to prepare meals. The blinds were so easy to use and kept the bright light out in the early mornings. Shipwatch is in a great location in Wild Dunes, and it's an easy walk down to the shops and restaurants. Cons: All of the appliances are very old and noisy. The dryer would turn on but it took forever to dry the clothes and towels. The burners on the stove were very questionable. We had to do a little repair on a few to get pots to sit correctly on them. The beds in the other two bedrooms were very uncomfortable. The dated drawer and cabinet hardware in the primary bathroom sticks out way too far. I cut my leg on one of them. Wifi is spotty inside the unit and we couldn't make calls unless we went outside. Overall, we are giving a pretty good rating because of the pretty view and easy access to the beach. For the money, this is a nice condo with a lot to offer. The owners should really consider investing in nice, new appliances. As much as it is to rent properties, especially with so many added fees, the least IR can do is have the property ready by 4:00 pm at the latest! (4/5 stars) We booked so late that options were limited for our early fall getaway. We wanted a 1 bedroom/bath on ocean front, and at a reasonable cost. There were only two of us. We ended up having to book a 3/3. Still, the price was reasonable because the condo is dated. We invited another couple to join us for the last weekend. Overall, the property was clean and comfortable. You cannot beat the location and the view out of the glass doors and windows was beautiful from the 1st floor condo! As others have mentioned, we enjoyed using the stairs versus the hot elevator. We did need to wash all of the utensils, and many of the dishes in the dishwasher on the first evening, as they looked like they had been hand washed leaving spots, and some food. Also mentioned was the terribly loud air condition. We had to turn it off at night to hear the T.V. We will be interested to see what the new owners do to renovate over next winter. We had everything we needed and the towels and other linens were really good quality. The kitchen was equipped with good quality cooking utensils and everything worked. I was really impressed with the excellent communication from Island Realty. They were professional and answered every question promptly. I’ve never bragged on a rental company before. Everything about this condo is upgraded and extremely comfortable from the beds to the living room sofas. The kitchen is equipped with absolutely everything you need. I was able to prepare a "Southern Style New Year's Day Meal" easily.The location is very nice and while the upper floors may have better views of the Ocean, we actually enjoyed being able to take the stairs quickly to get to the beach versus waiting on the elevator. The only thing alarming was the pool hours. Closes at "sunset"...whatever time that is everyday. With limited off property options due to COVID, we needed the pool for later evenings.
