A204 is a good location with an okay view of ocean with a tree slightly blocking view. The king bed is definitely firm. Condo is adequately furnished although dated. The pool is wonderful with plenty of chairs. I would stay there again. I rented the condo in February and found out at the end of May that eroding work would be done on the beach but would still be able to use the ocean in front of the condo. By this time it was too late to change our reservation because everything was booked. So, We swam in the ocean in front of condo the first 2 days but the water was so murky and dirty that we went to the county park the rest of our trip. I left 2 messages with the property manager Whitney and never received a return call. More of an advanced notification should have been given to the renters of the work being done on the beach so you could make other plans if you wanted to stay at another location. This trip was not worth what I paid for it. Felt inviting. Nice views. It was convenient to pool and beach. Bathroom toiletries was a nice touch. Had what I needed for cooking breakfast. A couple odds things, wrong size sheets on king bed, so lots of extra material. No inside deadbolt on door. Master bath sink water pressure low and cleaning service could of done a better job in bathrooms. The unit was well stocked and mostly clean. The location was perfect with ease of beach access, technically a private beach. Our only complaint, which we didn’t inform management, was the bathrooms. There were only 4 towels for 3 guests staying for 6 nights. We had to wash daily. Also, there was visible mold in both showers, on the ceiling and the crevices. My husband cleaned the shower head thoroughly in the master bath since it was clogged and dirty. First, the HOA needs to keep spare parts on hand for the elevator which was not working the whole time we were there. We heard from residents that this happens all the time and should not be happening. I understand Island Realty does not have control over this but it would be worth a discussion and when I brought to their attention and how much of a struggle it was causing my husband with his arthitic knees we were not offered any compensation at all which was disapointing. The condo was clean and well equiped and the location is great. Be sure to add spare pillowcases for guests that want to use the extra pillows in the closet. The beach was the gorgeous but we would not book again due to the elevator problems that seem to happen regularly. The whole unit needs extensive updates such as painted walls, baseboards, bath fixtures and needs. There was peeling paint, the walls were all scuffed in many places not just a few. The master bath shower had no door sweep so water ran onto the floor during a shower. The hall bath had mildew growing on the ceiling. There was what appeared to be blood stains on a blanket, comforter, and a couple throw pillows. The curtains were stained in several places and not easy to pull shut. The tile floors grout was dirty looking in places. The comforter in the master had bleach like stains on it. I have stayed in several condos through the years in IOP and this is by far the worst. The rugs were so dirty we had to kneel on pillows. The rug under the dining table was shredded and some lamps were chipped on the bottom. Second bath is small for two adults (second BR has two twins). Master bath is huge. There is a washer and dryer.Large balcony, Ocean View. There is beach even at high tide on this part of the island. We had some issues to report on maintenance but Island Realty was not available due to the holiday. You can leave a voicemail but they aren’t going to fix unless it’s a real emergency. Clean, convenient and great ocean views. Elevator access was also a plus. All appliances, linens, kitchen needs were included. We watched Wimbledon in the morning and would suggest that the tv in the living room may need a slight adjustment in clarity. We enjoy the close proximity to Charleston and Mt. Peaseant. Our stay at Shipwatch was enjoyable. The accomatitations were great. Everything was clean. The only problem was the insects. If you went out after dusk you were eaten alive. We tried bug sprays but nothing worked well.
