It was wonderful to make that our home for 6-weeks. The condo is well-equipped very clean and I especially like the coffee bar they have set-up in the entry way. Because of the length of our stay we brought more clothes than we normally would and the only downside would be the limited space in the master bedroom closet. We had to use the 2nd bedroom closet for the clothes that had to be hung up but that was not an issue for us. We look forward to staying at Tidewater I 104 again in the near future. We have stayed in 4 of these condos over the years, and the updates the owners have done really made a difference. The beds, though squeeky from time to time, are super comfy, the kitchen is really nice and the new appliances are top notch! The layout of the den is nice and the bathroom upgrades were fantastic! The view of the property from the screened porch was beautiful at night and the sunrise was epic for us, too! We did have an issue with the garage disposal not working but the maintenance crew was VERY responsive. A new one was put in right away and we carried on our merry way. I would highly reccomend this place. We had a lovely time with our family of 4 for a few days. *Sidenote - The beach has changed a bit with a big drop off. We have been visiting Port “O” Call for over 40 years and love the accommodations, pool and beach access. Our Tidewater condo was great (clean and everything we needed). The one complaint we have is that we got an email a day before letting us know that our pool would be closed in the afternoon for a owners meeting. We’ll this should have been communicated much earlier and we feel the owner’s disrespected the guest and inconvenienced us up for an hour meeting.... There were only about five of us at the pool and they had plenty of space to have their meeting. Our group felt like we paid for that pool for the week but then suddenly you tell us we can’t use it for 4 hours in the hottest time of the day because 5 “members wanted to talk about their condo”. We were very disappointed that the unit we usually rent in Summer House at Christmas was not available to us because of the inoperable elevator. But the unit in Tidewater was excellent. This unit provided us with everything we needed. The unit was clean and properly maintained. The owner, though, had a governor on the heating system and therefore we were very cold. The system could only be set at 71o and with the unusually cold temps while we were there, we needed to wear 2 pairs of socks and multiple layers of clothing. By being on the lower floor and no area rugs or carpeting, it was uncomfortable many days. A man came in to change the furnace filter and he verified the temperature was set at 71o. The bug man also came in to spray on the regular basis. Several issues with the floor boards especially around the eat-in kitchen and other areas were weak. These issues should be addressed soon and we were concerned with what may be occurring under the unit.We are planning on returning next Christmas and will again use Island Reality. We've always been satisfied with your service and help with making reservations. We live in the Northeast and so we were able to drive in a day to this location. Very private, very quiet, and the beach for walking was almost right outside the back door. The unit was immaculate, the bed was comfortable, and the living space was comfortable. We sat by the pool that is out back and enjoyed the sunshine. My husband golfed and I used the lap swimming pool (about a mile away within Wild Dunes), that's heated to 81 degrees. First floor unit was very convenient to the pool and beach. We cooked out on the grill by the pool one night which was very nice. Great wine bar and coffee bar in the hallway with a combo Keurig coffee maker(carafe or cup, bring your own coffee). After much worry and trepidation about Hurricane Florence's impact on Charleston, we were able to enjoy a wonderful week of sunshine, blue skies, and fabulous company. Our condo was well-appointed and in a perfect spot. We have been coming back to the Tidewater/Port O'Call complex for almost 20 years, as we prefer that area to most others in Wild Dunes. I could see the ocean from the couch, the porch, the pool - everywhere. The pool was steps from our porch, and the ocean was just over the dunes. Location and convenience was everything to us with two kids under 3, and this unit did not disappoint.The condo itself was very well maintained, well stocked in the kitchen, very clean, and thoughtfully decorated. I've stayed in many vrbo-type places, and this condo was the first where I really wanted for nothing in terms of needed amenities (except a hairdryer - be sure to bring one!). The beds were comfortable. Just enough seating for everyone. The extra beach supplies (chairs, toys, noodles, umbrella) were an unexpected bonus. Some places feel like sloppy flips; this condo is far from that with many upscale finishes. You can tell that the owners take pride in this property, and we are glad that they shared it with us.IOP and Wild Dunes were a perfect location for us, too. We didn't mind the scenic 12-minute drive from our condo to IOP-central. 40 minutes to downtown Charleston thru Sullivan went quick. I thought we would miss out with not having a SportsPass, but we didn't need it at all with the pool at Tidewater. We utilized the local grocery store more than eating out, but Wild Dunes has many good eating options to explore.Lastly, Island Realty was top notch. Extremely helpful at every interaction, ready with advice and recommendations. We had a smaller number of ladies this year so we booked this smaller place and loved it. The only 2 things we would recommend is the twin mattress be replaced. The ladies that slept in that room was not satisfied with the way the beds slept. The ceiling fan on the porch needs some attention, it appears to be hanging on my just a couple of wires. The property is spacious with decent ocean views. It has easy access to the pool and beach as well as to the parking lot. So, getting in and out for daily activities could no have been any easier, especially if you are hauling around heavy luggage or bulky beach chairs. The only downside that we experienced with our stay is that the mattress in the master bedroom was well-overdue for a replacement. It should have been replaced long ago. My wife and I woke up every morning with considerable pain and stiffness. This, of course, is not what wants to experience while on vacation. We have stayed at different locations and this is our favorite spot for our family of four. We have tried other areas but always seem to come back here when we can afford to be closer the the beach. The only complaint I have is that whom ever was in the unit above us was rolling things on the floor and walking very heavy very late and into the morning. They was also out on the screened in porch and what ever they was in was so squeaky and again it was up into the wee hours in the morning. My wife and I took our 6 & 3year old here for Mother's Day weekend and it was perfect. The condo was very clean, bright and cozy. Not to mention the location!! Steps from the pool and beach. I would only recommend that you bring a fan for the bedrooms. The screened in porch was great for coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. Also, the square footage of the condo was great. The bedrooms were a decent size especially the kitchen. A short few yards to carry your beach chairs and gear. The condo is full of light with a view of the ocean from the screened porch. While the bathrooms could use an update and the floors in the bedroom have soft subfloor ingredients (watch your step), the condo is clean and comfortable. Right next to the pool, short walk to the beach. Best part of our stay. Had a few issues : - master bath shower gets water all over the floor- 2nd bath shower hot/cold knob didn't work (we were able to fix it with some tools)- ice maker didn't work- we have 2 kids under 3, and there was a diarrhetic pill found on the floor. Thank goodness we found it and not one of the kids - the noise from upstairs was really loud (can hear people walking like they're stomping on the floor, and also when they use the bathroom- minimum temp for the thermostat is 70, which is not cool enough for nighttimeOverall, we had a nice stay. I probably wouldn't go back to this particular condo, but it's nice enough.
