We Scream for Ice Cream!

There is no better way to enjoy a sunny day in the Lowcountry than by getting a delicious bowl of ice cream covered in layers of sweet toppings!

There are several incredible ice cream shops located right here on Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island, just steps from your vacation rental!

Here are our recommendations for the best ice cream in the area.

BRAND NEW: shaka shack

1101 Ocean Blvd., Isle of Palms, SC 29451

Isle of Palms regulars may remember the long-standing Ben & Jerry's stand on Ocean Blvd. While we may have lost that iconic beach day spot, we welcomed a brand-new tropical treat stand. Open for only a few successful weeks, this tiny slice of paradise offers soft serve, dole whips, milkshakes, and acai bowls with 20+ topping choices!

Beardcat's Sweet Shop

2063 Middle St, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482

Andrea Upchurch, a South Carolina native, worked as a pastry chef for several of Charleston's renowned restaurants before opening Beardcat's Sweet Shop in 2018. She has brought her passion for food and art to the Sullivan's Island community with her colorful and flavorful gelato treats. Come in and try Beardcat's variety of sweet and savory gelato sandwiches, gelato cakes, pastries, cookies, and more.

Republic Ice Cream

2120 Middle St, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482

Republic is a local artisan ice cream shop that sources the finest ingredients from around the world. This family-owned establishment dates all the way back to their great-grandfather, who delivered ice cream by a horse-drawn wagon in 1917. After enjoying the scenic beaches on Sullivan's Island, stop by Republic Ice Cream to enjoy homemade ice cream, freshly made waffle cones, and pecans roasted right there in the shop.

Duney's Ice Cream Shop

Are you spending your vacation out in Wild Dunes? There is a well-loved ice cream shop right inside the resort! Conveniently located near the Wild Dunes Resort Pavilion, Duney's is a must-visit spot after soaking up some sun by the pool.
