Lowcountry Oyster Festival

With the New Year in full force, we can't help but to think about one particular thing when it comes to these "colder" months...oyster season! Being on the coast brings a fun atmosphere and many outdoor adventures. Gather around with your friends and family and get ready for some oyster shucking! At 10:00 AM on January 27, join along with other Charleston locals and visitors for the Lowcountry Oyster Festival. With 80,000 oysters being shipped in, you will definitely get your seafood fix at this festival. This festival is the world's largest oyster festival and has been named of the "Top 20 Events in the Southeast" by the Southeastern Tourism Society.

What can you expect when attending this oyster-filled day? The legendary "oyster shucking" and "oyster eating" contests, live music, wine options, a large selection of domestic and imported beers, a children's play area, and a food court containing a large variety of local favorite restaurants to satisfy everyone' taste!
