St. Patrick's Day Festivities in the Lowcountry

Visiting Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island and Charleston in March has many perks: leisure walks around the island, local seafood favorites, and many historical monuments. You have picked a great week/weekend to visit because St. Paddy's Day is on Friday! Luck you, there are a lot of fun things going on in the Lowcountry during this week and weekend!

If you enjoy running or walking, you're just in luck! The Catch the Leprechaun 5K is this Wednesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. The starting point will be located on Memorial Waterfront Park in Mount Pleasant – just down the road from Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms. With just $30 a ticket to participate in the race, all proceeds will benefit for the cause, Racers for Pacers and HEART Artist Guild & Theatre Company. At the end of the race, A "Pot of Gold" (awards and prizes) will be given. What's St. Patrick's Day without a party? After the race, join in on the fun at the St. Patrick's Day Party from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. There will be food, drinks and live music!

Head to historic downtown Charleston for the St. Patrick's Day Parade on King Street! This free event will be on both Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m.  While downtown, explore the different historical features the peninsula has to offer. Strolling down King Street and Meeting Street will be a plus in the weather we are expecting!

Since you are visiting the island, join your fellow islanders in a friendly St. Paddy's Day celebration for ALL ages at the St. Patrick's Party in the Park. Starting at 10:00 a.m. – noon at the J. Marshall Stith Park on Sullivan's Island, enjoy live entertainment and a magic show! In addition, enjoy face painting balloon artists and more!
