When can dogs be off-leash?
5:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. - April 1st through September 14th
4:00 p.m. until 10:00 a.m. - September 15th through March 31st.
Owners must have a leash in hand at all times.
Off-leash dogs must be under voice command.
**Other than the listed times, dogs must be ON a leash and under the control of their owner (even in the water). Dogs must be cleaned up after at ALL times. There are dog bag receptacles at most public beach access paths.

Leashed dogs are allowed in the grounds, gardens, and Audubon Swamp. Dogs are NOT permitted in the Wildlife Center, Gift Shop, or on guided tours.
Drayton Hall (Charleston)
Leashed dogs are welcome everywhere except for the historical structures such as the main house, privy, caretaker's house, and visitor center.
Boone Hall (Mount Pleasant)
Leashed pets are permitted on the grounds except for going inside the plantation home during house tours, on plantation tractor tours, or inside the Hospitality Center or Butterfly Cafe.
Charleston Tea Garden (Wadmalaw Island)
Leashed pets are welcome everywhere except for inside the gift shop and on the trolley tour.

Charleston Town Landing State Historic Site (West Ashley - Charleston)
Leashed pets are allowed in most outdoor areas excluding the Animal Forest.
