Where to Wednesday: Enjoy the Winter Season on Island Time

We all love putting our feet in the sand or a taking a dip into the ocean but the beach is just as amazing in the winter months as it is in the summer! Since it's officially winter, I found it to be a great time to write about all of the incredible things the beach has to offer in the "colder" months.

Relaxation - doesn't that word sound great right about now? Everyone at some point needs a good dose of R&R and the beach is just the answer. Imagine cozying up in your most comfy clothes and either sitting in a beach chair on the beach or on the back porch. The sounds of the waves will bring you much peace and the sunlight beaming on your face will share enough warmth that you will be excited you came to visit.

Winter strolls down the beach or on the island is a plus. Take along a hot coffee or cocoa and enjoy nature's view at its finest. The sunrise and sunset views are as picturesque as you would see in a magazine or on television.  Did you know our beaches are dog friendly? Yes, that's right! Now you don't have to worry about what to do with your pups while you are vacationing. We offer dog friendly stays so you and the whole family can enjoy a time away from reality.

Come to the Charleston area hungry! Winter or summer, Charleston and its surrounding islands offer some of the best local cuisines. We have restaurant options for any occasion and some of the best local seafood. January 4-22 is Charleston Restaurant Week! This is a tasty opportunity the whole family can enjoy while you are visiting. Restaurants in Charleston and its surrounding islands will offer key specialties at a great price. This will give you the chance to eat local cuisine prepared by Charleston's best chefs at an affordable price.

Are you into jazz music? The 3rd Annual Charleston Jazz Festival will start January 20 in downtown Charleston at the well-known American Theater. Jazz on to a great lineup of bands at the three-day event. Different talented musicians will perform at various venues which will give you a look at some of Charleston's best performing locations.

Coming up in February is the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) and this three-day event will be hosted right in the heart of Charleston, South Carolina. With more than 40,000 attendees and hundreds of exhibitors and artists, it will be an experience that will make your visit to the area an unforgettable one!
