Farmers Markets to Shop this Summer

Summer is the season for beach lounging, parasailing, and vacations, but it's also the season for Farmers Markets! These markets are a great way to support local farmers and vendors while enjoying a little bit of everything the Lowcountry has to offer. There are several markets nearby to enjoy while you're here, and this week we're going to tell you all about them and when you can shop them!

Isle of Palms Farmers Market

This year, the Isle of Palms Farmers Market is every third Thursday of the month, from June-September, from 4-7 PM! The market takes place at the Isle of Palms Rec Center, which is located at 24 28th Ave. Some of the featured vendors include Legare Mobile Market, Lowcountry Dog Treats, and Sun Dog Studio!

Upcoming Farmers Market dates are:

  • June 17th
  • July 15th
  • August 19th
  • September 16th

Mount Pleasant Farmers Market

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market takes place every Tuesday from 3:30-7 PM, April-September. If you drive through Sullivan's Island out to Mount Pleasant, you're just a straight shot to the Farmers Market! The pavilion is right next to Moultrie Middle School on Coleman Blvd., and parking is available across the street. If you're staying on the Island on a week that doesn't have the IOP market, this is a great option! There are multiple produce vendors, goods sold from local restaurants like My Big Fat Greek Trailer, and live music! Their website features a crop calendar, too, so you can stay up-to-date on what's in season!

Downtown Charleston Farmers Market

For the early-risers, the Farmers Market in Downtown Charleston is a classic and well-loved by many. The market takes place every Saturday morning from 8 AM-1 PM in Marion Square through November. If you're unfamiliar with the area, this is in the heart of Downtown, so after your time at the Farmers Market, you're in close proximity to the shops along King Street, and numerous restaurants to grab some lunch!

~Bonus Options~

The following markets are not quite as close to the Island as the last three, but are still great options around the Charleston area!

We'll be visiting Famers Markets around the Lowcountry throughout the Summer, so be sure to follow us on Instagram @IslandRealty to see what we're shopping!
