How do I make a reservation and what is required?
If you are unsure of which vacation rental home will best suit your needs, our online advanced search tool or our vacation planners are ready to assist you. Once you have decided on a property, you can make your reservation over the phone with one of our vacation planners or book your stay online. Island Realty requires a 50% deposit to confirm your reservation and the remaining 50% of the payment is due 30 days prior to your arrival date. If you are booking within 30 days of your arrival date, the full rental amount will be due at the time of booking.
What forms of payment does Island Realty accept?
Island Realty accepts all major credit cards and checks as long as they are received at least 30 days prior to your arrival date. If you would like to pay with a check within a month of arrival, Island Realty can accept a cashier's check or money order.
How can I make my final payment?
If you would like to make your final payment using a personal check, the check must be received by your balance due date which will be 30 days prior to arrival. If you would like to make your final payment using the credit card on file, you may either give us a call to speak with one of our vacation planners or email email@example.com with your reservation number and desired date of charge to schedule and authorize the payment. To make your final payment with a different credit card than what was provided at the time of booking, please call to speak with one of our vacation planners.
Where do I check in?
You will check in at the Island Realty rental office which is conveniently located at the base of the Isle of Palms Connector at 1304 Palm Blvd. Isle of Palms, SC 29451.
When is check-in time?
Check-in time begins at 4:00 P.M. on the day of your arrival. We would like to remind you that the property may not be available for occupancy before this time, even if it is not occupied prior to your arrival. We encourage you to plan for a 4:00 P.M. check in and delay any grocery shopping or luggage drop offs until you have received the keys to your property.
What if another guest in my party arrives before me? Can they check in for me?
If another renter arrives before the reservation holder, they will be able to check in provided that the unit has been cleared for check in. Please ensure that any guests who may check in are able to provide all reservation details in order to verify their identity. Additionally, any guest who will be checking in on behalf of the reservation holder will be required to supply a mobile telephone number and sign the check-in card agreeing to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement on behalf of the reservation holder.
What if I will be arriving after your office closes?
If you will be arriving after office hours, please contact our office by 5:00 P.M. on the date of arrival to arrange for a lockbox. All of the lockboxes are located inside of our office and are marked "Late Arrivals" They are accessible 24 hours.
When is check-out time?
Check out is at 10:00 A.M. on the day of your departure. If you have not vacated the property by 10:00 A.M., you are subject to additional fees — a charge for up to one night's rent.
How can I find out about things to do in the area?
In addition to a wealth of information contained in the Island Realty app and the online Area Directory, Island Realty offers a Concierge team that can serve as your connection to the Lowcountry. Our Concierge team is able to assist with recommendations about area activities, attractions, restaurants and more, in addition to assisting with ticket sales and vacation packages.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes and no. You can cancel your reservation; however, you will not get a refund unless the property is re-rented for the same dates and rate as your reservation. Island Realty has a 10% cancellation fee, and the remainder of your deposit is held pending re-rental of the property. If you are paid-in-full for the reservation, all money will be held until we can re-rent the property. If the property is not re-booked, the entire balance will be forfeited to Island Realty, regardless of whether or not a full deposit was made at the time of booking. Why should I purchase travel insurance?
By purchasing travel insurance, you can insure yourself against covered cancellation penalties and medical costs, as well as gain access to a wide range of traveler's assistance services. Please carefully consider the insurance in order to prevent the loss of your reservation deposit for any event that may be covered by this policy. What is the Island Realty App and how do I get it?
You will receive an email inviting you to download and sign into the Island Realty Mobile App once your reservation has been paid in full. We offer this app as a convenience to you during your stay on the island. In addition to providing important information about your arrival, departure, and vacation rental property, the app will provide you with a wealth of information about grocery stores, events, restaurants, and things to do in the area. We highly recommend you download the app on your smartphone or tablet. If you do not have a mobile device, the app can be accessed as a PDF or online.
What will be included in my check-in packet?
Your check-in packet will include your entry keys or code, parking passes (if applicable), gate and pool passes or codes (if applicable), area maps, Island Realty rental information and procedures, and important rules and regulations for the Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island.
What do I need to bring?
All rental properties come equipped with an initial set up of toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, soap, dishwashing soap, and dishwasher detergent. These items are not replenished once they run out. You should either plan to bring extra supplies and any other paper or cleaning products you may need during your stay, or purchase them after you arrive.
How do I order linens and/or additional housekeeping services?
Please call our office to order linens or to arrange for housekeeping services. Linens must be ordered at least two weeks prior to your arrival to allow for availability and delivery. The prices for housekeeping services and linens can be found on the Property Services page.
Does my property have WiFi?
WiFi is not standard for every property, so please inquire if it is important for you to have during your stay. If you are staying in a property that does not have WiFi available, there is free WiFi in the lobby of the Island Realty office which can be used during regular business hours.
How many parking passes will I receive with my reservation?
Homes located on Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island do not require parking passes. If you are staying in a condominium or a property within Wild Dunes, parking passes will be required. Island Realty provides you with the maximum number of passes permitted at your property within your check-in packet.
