The unit is in need of some serious cleaning and updating. The rugs were so dirty we had to kneel on pillows. The rug under the dining table was shredded and some lamps were chipped on the bottom.

I'm not suggesting that the cleaners did a bad job, but I had to take Clorox wipes and reclean all the tile floors before I would let anyone walk barefoot. This is just a sample and since we have stayed in 9 different units in Shipwatch this is the only one I have had any kind of complaint about. When compared to the other units, it rates very low. We love IOP and ShipWatch

Thanksgiving Stay

Nice property. Loved the landscaping, especially the live oaks. The kitchen is fully stocked, enough for a family Thanksgiving dinner.
Internet and cell phone service is spotty to poor.
Beds are comfortable. Second bath is small for two adults (second BR has two twins). Master bath is huge. There is a washer and dryer.
Large balcony, Ocean View. There is beach even at high tide on this part of the island.
We had some issues to report on maintenance but Island Realty was not available due to the holiday. You can leave a voicemail but they aren’t going to fix unless it’s a real emergency. Generally we would be ok with this, but the extremely high rental cost for IOP properties seems like we would get better service - or even better drop the prices.

This property has a lovely oceanfront location and a convenient boardwalk onto the beach. Parking is convenient. The staff at Island Realty were great. (Thank you Aine O'Brien!). We liked the proximity to Mount Pleasant and Charleston and took the opportunity to walk the Ravanel Bridge (great views from up there). Our only concern was the inconsistent WiFi and cell phone reception. We have not experienced this problem in other units.Overall, a great holiday location and a superb place to just relax and enjoy the beach!

Some dishes put up dirty. I would buy new mattress for large bedroom.

We had a great time. I feared that weather would be too hot, given Columbia's heatwave of 100+ degree days; however, the nice ocean breezes kept us comfortable, both on and off the strand.

As usual, Jenny was most helpful in making our reservations. She is a real asset to Island Realty!

Kitchen was well-equipped, but could not find a pitcher for our Southern iced tea! Otherwise, everything was fine.

I think this was our 5th or 6th trip to IOP in the last 15 years. We have had condos that we have liked more and one that we liked less than this condo. Our condo was fine but it needs some TLC.
1. End dinning table chairs need repaired.
2. Sisal rug in dinning area needs repaired or replaced.
3. Small rug/mat at kitchen island needs replaced. Turned up corner is a trip hazard.
4. Biggest gripe/problem is the terrible WiFi signal. The TV picture continually froze and/or pixelated. Even video quality on a computer or tablet was degraded. The other condos below, above, and beside ours shown 5 bars, ours only 3 bars. Also, a channel guide would have been most helpful.
Biggest asset and joy was the master bathroom, especially the shower.

Location was great. Condo was very clean. The unit is in bad need of updating. The walls are all beat up and in desperate need of a coat of paint.( Not yellow). The ceiling is very dirty around the vents. The couch and chairs smell funky and all the artificial plants need to go. I have stayed with you guys in the past so I know you have properties that are perfect this one was not. If I was a first time customer I might find someone else next time.

The proximity to the beach and pool is wonderful, but we were disappointed by the lack of love and attention to this unit elsewhere. With a little effort in amenities, this has potential to be a wonderful spot. Having basic things like good cutlery and extra towels would go a long way. The unit was not well cleaned upon our arrival either. Almost all of the dishes we pulled out of the cabinets were filthy and needed to be hand washed before use.

This was a great place to stay while I looked for a permanent home for my wife and I as I had changed jobs and moved cross-country. The staff at Island Realty was very welcoming and accommodating and went above and beyond. The condo's location was spectacular, right on the beach, and the amenities were great.

We spent 5 nights at Wild Dunes and had a fabulous time! The location is very convenient, the view beautiful and the unit was perfect for the four of us. Furnishings, beds, kitchen and appliances were all in great condition and we even enjoyed the pool!

Island Realty staff was friendly and courteous. Unit was clean and well appointed. Only complaint is the number of towel sets provided for guests. I set per person. We have rented condos at Shipwatch for 15+ years and other property management firms have always provided at least 2 towel sets per person. We were told we could rent additional towels but opted to go to Target and buy bath towels instead - cheaper.

We really enjoyed the condo! The set-up is great. kitchen was well stocked and loved the master bath. The view was great! The only thing lacking was ceiling fans.

Also the cell phone service was awful, we had to go outside to make or receive calls. We haven't experienced this in the other units we have stayed in.

We had a wonderful stay in this 2 bedroom apartment facing the water. All appliances, linens, kitchen needs were included. We watched Wimbledon in the morning and would suggest that the tv in the living room may need a slight adjustment in clarity. Loved Wild Dunes and would definitely return.

Our family had been vacation on IOP for over 25 years now. We enjoy the close proximity to Charleston and Mt. Peaseant. Our stay at Shipwatch was enjoyable. The accomatitations were great. Everything was clean. The only problem was the insects. If you went out after dusk you were eaten alive. We tried bug sprays but nothing worked well. The pool area was beautiful but you couldn’t go for the bugs.

This property currently features a traditional coffee pot (uses grounds and filters).

We do not require our owners to provide a hair dryer so we cannot guarantee that there will be one there to use.

Due to its barrier island location, cell service/internet may become spotty during storms, high winds, and other weather events. We remain in constant contact with the third-party vendors who provide these services so that we can quickly correct any issues, should they occur.
